Contracts Show Fani Willis Offered Top RICO Expert Lower Hourly Rate Than Her Alleged Lover In Trump Case
Daily Caller ^ | 1/15/24 | Katelynn Richardson

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis paid her alleged romantic partner, Nathan Wade, to work at a higher hourly rate on the case against former President Donald Trump than she contracted one of the state’s leading racketeering experts, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

John Floyd, who wrote a book on federal and state Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statutes and is considered Georgia’s top expert, entered into a contract with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office on March 10, 2021 at an hourly rate of $150 per hour, according to a contract obtained by the DCNF. Nathan Wade, who Willis appointed special prosecutor, was retained at a rate of $250 per hour, according to the contract contained in court documents — though Willis claimed Sunday all her special counsels were paid the same rate.

A Trump co-defendant claimed in a motion seeking to dismiss the case last week that Willis benefited from awarding Wade, allegedly her romantic partner, a “lucrative” contract because he used payments he received for his position to take her on cruises and vacations. Wade filed for divorce from his wife on Nov. 2, 2021, the day after his contract to work under Willis began.

[snip]

“If the allegations about his lack of felony trial experience are true, $250 per hour is unreasonably high,” Atlanta-based criminal defense attorney and legal analyst Philip Holloway told the DCNF. “It could be argued that any amount is too high to pay someone with no felony trial experience to come in as lead counsel in the biggest, most complex criminal case in the history of Georgia.”

Wade has been paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Interesting comparison on contract rates Willis' office paid to other (experienced) attorneys versus what was paid to Wade (no RICO or trial experience).

$150 for a legit Rico expert seems to be wow incredibly low. but I guess that’s public sector work.

This whole thing blows up if they can trace back Wade kicking a piece of his hourly contract rate back to Willis which I suspect was happening. The top Rico attorney was contracted at 150 an hour and the no RICO experienced lover, Wade, was contracted at 250 an hour. I suspect Wade was kicking back at least 100 an hour to Willis. Now, they have to trace the money trail from Wade’s accounts to Willis.

It may reflect a very strong desire on his part to land the job: books, TV gigs, fame all would come with being a key person to bring down Trump.

Better Call Saul comes to Alanta. Sounds like not only did Fani call Saul and pay him 250 an hour, way more than he’s worth, but she was shacking up with him. Now, all we have to figure out is how much he was kicking back to her on the 250 an hour contract.

If that guy is the RICO expert that they’re saying he is and he’s wiling to work or $150/yr, then he’d work for free. Because he’s there to get Pres Trump. He’d work for room and board.

The “i’s” are dotted and the “t’s” are crossed on fani’s criminality and corruption. If fani avoids prison time then justice for the law abiding has ceased to be. Is fani to be or not to be the norm?

It’s racist to hold me to the same legal and ethical standards as white people.

Did I get that right?

That’s about right. BTW, Governor Kemp said earlier that he sees no need for a criminal investigation into Willis. I would think an allegation of misuse of tax-payer funds would require a criminal investigation.
