More trans candidates face challenges running for office in Ohio for omitting their former names

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Several transgender candidates for state office in Ohio are facing challenges and even outright disqualification for omitting their former names from petition paperwork under a little-known state elections law, confronting a unique dilemma as they vie for office in increasing numbers in the face of anti-LBGTQ legislation.

Three of the four transgender candidates hoping to win Democratic seats in the Republican-dominated Ohio House and Senate have either been challenged or disqualified for not putting their former name — also called a deadname — on circulating petitions to get on the ballot. But state law mandates that candidates list any name changes in the last five years, though it isn’t in the Secretary of State’s 33-page candidate requirement guide.

Additionally, the petition paperwork does not have a place to list any former names and exempts name changes due to marriage.

[snip]

Michigan has a similar elections law, which mandates candidates list any name changes in the past decade, but it’s not clear which others states have one. The Associated Press reached out to several election experts and organizations tracking elections laws, and none were aware of how many states require candidates to disclose name changes.

This seems to really bother the media because these are GIBLET people. I thought when you ran for office, you have to list all prior names, although states have different rules as to how far back you have to go. The laws have nothing in particular to do about trans-GIBLETS. It is required of all candidates. The rules makes sense in order to make sure a candidate is truly qualified to run for office.

So State law protects voters from being required to play into the self-loathers’ delusion?

What’s the problem?

Capitols usually are old folks’ homes.

Now they have to be re-purposed as mental institutions?

Seventy five percent of mentally impaired candidates running for a cushy
state office job had no idea of a state law directly affecting their eligibility.

Diversity is our strength, comrade.

So the trans thingy allows low IQ men who would never get elected or get promoted to have an advantage over fully qualified individuals, especially women.

What the heck is happening in Ohio?

Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati are liberal hellholes, but the remainder of the state is Conservative...or so I thought.

This past year, voters voted to make baby-killing a part of our State Constitution, they approved recreational pot, RINO Governor DeWine vetoed a bill that would have prohibited child genital mutilation and boys playing in girls sports, and now we’ve got numerous pervs running for office?

More proof we are living in Romans 1 times.

Here in Arizona Democrat Reps are trained from day one to follow the party line. No thinking on your own or actually representing your people. I would not be surprised if this is Standard operating procedure in other state Legislatures.

It is the perfect job for mentally challenged individuals. Just vote the party line , read back your talking points when needed then get rich off all the kick backs.

I suppose the adjective “trans” saves space, but it also hides what they are doing.

I always used to say that if someone can’t get it right regarding abortion, how could I trust them with anything? Same goes for “transgender” folks running for office. If you’re confused about your gender, I won’t be able to trust you with any other issue.
