I am always amazed how ostensibly high-quality people become garbage when they are given actual responsibility to lead. I stopped being amazed by that a long time ago.

Based on the plagerism charges I’d question whether she was a high quality academic to begin with. Doubt it was the main quality Harvard was looking for.

Good leadership requires a particular set of qualities. Not many “high quality” people have them.
