“...hiding tools...”
That’s a pretty serious offense. Boeing uses chits, tool cutouts, etc to maintain tool accountability. I can’t imagine a shift could leave without all tools being accounted for.
I don’t remember the details now. But one guy was in some kind of cage doing something... calibrating tools? I dunno? But anyway one of his complaints was people hiding his stuff or breaking things and blaming him.
He was getting bullied and driven out of the company. His manager and union foreman were working together to drum him out — or at least looking the other way while others treated him poorly.
The guy was ill-treated at all levels, but I didn’t take the case. Too much trouble when unions were involved since they often contributed to the discrimination, while introducing lots of additional labor regulations to deal with.
Other cases were more or less simple bullying by one tribe against another. Or boyfriends and girlfriends stuff. None of that was illegal, just childish and mean.
But my take away was that few adults, if any, were running the show at Boeing Renton.
