Back in the day, the German diplomats were the worst. Hands down. Back in the day, when I was living in NYC, there were recurring news stories about law-breaking diplomats. Always, they were Africans or Arabs. I don't recall ever reading about a German.

How “back” in the day? My Great Aunt worked at the German Embassy in DC until the outbreak of WWII.
