New York Republican lawmakers are calling on Gov. Kathy Hochul to remove Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after several migrants accused of mobbing two NYPD cops in a Times Square attack were set free without bail.
State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt and 19 other senators called on the Democrat governor to can Bragg, citing the clash with as the latest in a long line of alleged failures by the lefty DA.
“He is running a public defenders office out of the district attorney’s office,” Ortt told reporters Tuesday.
“Bragg’s unconscionable handling of the recent attack on two NYPD officers by a gang of migrants outside of a Times Square shelter must be the final straw,” the letter, sent Tuesday, said. “The public safety of New Yorkers is clearly at risk.”
A group of migrants were caught on camera attacking two NYPD officers late last month. Several of the individuals involved were apprehended a short time later, and charged with assaulting a police officer, but were released from custody without bail. Several of them have since fled the state to California, sources previously told The Post.
“We are past the time for action,” Suffolk County Republican state Sen. Dean Murray said. “It is time that she remove Alvin Bragg from office. From the moment he took office, he was picking and choosing which laws he would enforce, which criminals he would go after and which ones he wouldn’t.”
New York’s bail laws are widely criticized as being too lenient, but assaulting a police officer is a bail-eligible offense.

A NY Supreme Court judge blasted DA Alvin Bragg for his “selective justice” quirks .......throwing the book at some people for non-consequential offenses yet routinely coddling those charged with far more serious crimes.
NY State Supreme Court Justice Brendan T. Lantry wrote in an opinion, Bragg’s office “routinely — nearly daily — move[s] to dismiss significantly more serious counts even entire indictments”

City Council Minority Leader Joseph Borelli (R-Staten Island) cheered the judge, saying: “This is what Alvin Bragg is — a clown,” Borelli told The NY Post. “I’m glad the judge called him out for the world to see.”
Bragg is notorious for letting a violent mob go scot-free after seeing them savagely beat up cops on tape.
Since taking office in 2022, Bragg.....who boasts about being “a son of Harlem on the DA’s web site...... has come under frequent attack for not seeking prison time for various charges and downgrading felony charges in a slew of cases, including armed robbery and drug offenses.
The ghetto-nurtured Bragg showed he’s not up to the job when he set free a mob of savage migrants caught on tape beating up cops in Times Square.
Trying to evade justice, w/ Bragg’s blessing, some of the cowardly savages have reportedly skipped town using tax financed transportation.....or maybe a handout from Bragg’s tax financed budget?

And our legislature is totally cool with that.

Yep, she will never remove him. Like the Nazis, it’s party first above all else. They’ll throw the Jan. 6th stolen election protestors in jail for years for pushing over a police barricade, but criminal foreign invaders can kick in a cops head and they get released.

The more heinous the offense, the more impactful and demoralizing it is when the perpetrator is released without consequences. That’s the whole idea.

"Bragger is guilty of the greater crime: he endorsed a beatdown of the Blue not just to increase his own 'street cred' with his brand of Gotham thugs, but to demonstrate exactly how this Soros lawlessness works -- 'we release you without bail, so take the hint and run for the other coast' -- where you will be out of reach of the law, because bench warrants don't matter there, either."
