GOA and the Gun Owners Foundation (GOF), along with plaintiffs, Carl Higbie, Joseph Harris, and Michael Votruba, who live in border states and have a license to carry in those states, filed a federal lawsuit in the Northern District of New York challenging New York state’s prohibition on both granting concealed carry permits for non-residents and granting reciprocity for those permits from other states.

Reciprocity is in the U.S. Constitution.
But they are legal US citizens of other states.
Yes, NY doesn’t follow the constitution
Unless and until the Supreme Court gives us Constitutional Carry in all jurisdictions (which is what should happen but won’t,) Congress needs to enact nationwide reciprocity which includes states like NY and CA, and cities like NYC, that currently do not recognize any out of state CCWs.
While I agree with you, you would rot in jail if you tried to exercise that in NYC.
I live in Pennsylvania 25 minutes from the NY border. My wife is from NY and likes to go back there. We both have concealed carry permits in PA. We cannot have any firearms with us if we drive to NY. So we choose not to spend our money there. I’d love to see this suit succeed as there is no amount of begging and pleading that anyone can do to legally carry there for non residents.
Why the hell would any sane non-resident want to step foot in that communist nation?
Upstate is nice :)
New York is so communist it’s not even funny.
“Upstate is nice..”
Different laws up there?🤔
No, different people.
I still remember the Dred Scott decision(1857) in which the Taney Supreme Court ruled that US Citizens had the right “To keep and carry arms wherever they went.”
This set the stage for the Civil War as non whites were not considered citizens and had no such rights.
but fag marriage is fine...
Exzct,y! Just beczuse one crosses state lines does not mean that they lose the right to self defense!
No "permit" required is in the US Constitution.
The case did help incite the Civil War though
Supreme Court allows the carrying of firearms in public in major victory for gun rights groups
Like Illinois.
In fact, a permit requirement (which can be arbitrarily denied) is a clear infringement upon the right the amendment recognizes. It is an illegal law.
