As crowds set off for Las Vegas ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl, some meteorologists have said severe storms could impact their travel plans.
Forecasters have warned of threats of heavy rainfall and potential avalanches as showers from an atmospheric river hit the region on Wednesday.
The storm system moved in from California, where it brought dangerous flooding and weather conditions to southern and central parts of the state and left millions without power.
After periods of heavy rain and snow in southern Nevada on Tuesday, another round of precipitation is expected to hit on Thursday morning.
Las Vegas will see the heaviest rainfall late Wednesday night through Thursday morning, according to Fox Weather.

It is the Lord’s vengeance coming against Taylor Swift apparently.
I know a major issue of speculation of Taylor Swift, will be whether she gets back from Japan in time to see her boyfriend in the Super Bowl. She made her tour schedule before she knew she would have a football player boyfriend. And who knew his team would be in the Super Bowl.
I'm sure they could use rain, just not all at once.
Women and minorities hit hardest.

What Global Warming? Coldest three years in the history of the West.
I’m glad I’m not there. Especially since I don’t think the 49ers are going to win this thing.
Thursday - Period of clouds and sun with a shower in the area. An umbrella might be needed. Chance of precip 40%. High of 51.
Friday - Cold with partial sunshine, a shower cannot be ruled out. Chance of precip 25%. High of 52.
Saturday - A cool breeze with periods of clouds and sunshine. Dry for walking the strip. High of 55.
Sunday (Super Bowl) - Cool with plenty of sun. Dry for waking the strip. High of 57.
Our very lame MSM has to dramatize everything!
Rain doesn’t go there anymore, it’s too dry...............

Figures.
It was a nothing burger
May the rain wash that event away. Pro football has become bad for America.
Wise decision my friend. No one wants to see their team humiliated. LOL!
The dryness just sucks the rain out of the sky. A scientist told me that.
LOL
“…heavy rainfall and potential avalanches as showers from an atmospheric river“
Heavy rainfall morphed into showers in one sentence. No wonder all the climate catastrophe scaremongering is viewed as crap.
hoover dam is right south of vegas. You can see it when you fly into los vegas.
any rain from vegas goes right over to the hoover dam and lake meade.
The california dams are all at capacity. but the colorado dams are at about half capacity.
they can use the water. even several huge storms in the area. won’t move the needle much at the dam.
it takes several years of heavy snows in the rockies to bring those dams up to capacity.
