The lesson is that you don’t bail out after the job is 90% done. The South Vietnamese would have been fine if we kept up the weapons supply.
Even so, the real goal was not to make Vietnam a democracy, it was to slow down and economically bleed the Communists, esp. Russia, as the Chinese - Vietnamese relationship was always bound to be thorny in the end. In this goal we mostly succeeded. However, we largely lost another battle with Russia - the cultural and political battle at home. That one, much evolved now, continues. We see the latest iteration of Imperial Russia and its dupes and tools right here on FR.
Well, certainly not THIS Congress.
Congress can write specific policy and then impeach and convict if the Admin. doesn't follow the law. But, that convict part will not happen in this Senate, so, Congress' effort is meaningless.

Most of the newly appropriated money doesn’t make it to buy new weapons we already have them why would the sent money it’s money laundering scam Biden has ties with Ukraine for years the country has been corrupt for many years it’s haoe he save Hunter from going to prison.
P.S. There is NO believable evidence that any of the larger / more costly weapons have turned up outside Ukraine, except a few captures in Russia now.
That’s been under question many of them are showing up in countries with no way to trace where they came from.

I displayed the questions, and gave you the answers. The money came from nowhere, didn’t balance on any tally sheets, and always seemed to appear elsewhere sometimes in great disparities. The same money has been passed around for generations and maybe or not given to some. The politicians lie. This is how they make their living.
I’ll give you an example. Back in 1993 when Mather Air Force Base closed in Sacramento, CA, the county bid over $10M dollars for the golf course on the base and took it. Because it was a money generating property, it was required by state law to be posted as a title deed with the local news sources. It was posted in the Sacramento Bee that they had purchased it and how much.
When the public observed this they started asking questions on where the money came from when they were laying off policemen, firemen, and teachers but they had the change to buy a golf course. Discovery found they had been overcharging and hiding money from park rentals and other services for years and there was a substancial amount of liquid cash available. They were forced to give the course back to the feds and it took another year to get it sold to a private company while staff from McClellan had to manicure it without use. And sold for a lot less.
So it happens at all levels and when the feds are working with numbers of this height, it’s easy to lie, cheat, and steal. Especially with all the roadblocks they built to keep prying eyes shut. Evidense? Look at the numbers and wonder where it came from. Why do you think they never seem to balance a legit budget? And why are they able to audit themselves and they are always creating funds? That would create a possible find. They can’t afford that and still get the money to their pet projects. And both the Ukraine and the borders are a part of that. Ukraine for all the hardware we have there and the border for a supply of new voters. Gotta perpetuate the race of them.

Then can you tell me where this money is coming from? Billions of dollars have been spent so far without the Ukraine even partially paying it back. Have the feds had a Ukraine fund in the works for years? They got the money from somewhere while still placating their voter base. I somehow don’t think they ran enough yard or bake sales to cover it. That’s a lot of cash when you consider the price of the border mixed in with that. Follow the numbers and who puts them out. I worked in government for half my life and things are never what they seem. And “X” never marks the spot. And don’t stop the border after they get in. Where’s the money coming from all these cities that are, and have been, spending on illegals. The “M” tree in the back yard didn’t bloom that I know of.

Nothing useful will get through this Senate. Most likely anything that does (pass) will actually be detrimental.
If something helpful did pass “first”, as some of our supposed fellow travelers insist, Biden would veto it.
Not even the House could over-ride a Biden veto. But even if the over-ride passed in both the House and Senate, as you said, the Biden administration would not execute it. Then we are into impeachment (might happen in the House) but conviction in the Senate? No way.
And even if by some disaster inspired “miracle”*, conviction and removal occurred, we have... Heels-up as Prez. Or following her, someone SHE appointed? OMG.

*The one circumstance I can see with a tiny chance of “success” would be a major terrorist attack, before November, at least on the scale of 911, definitively and primarily tied to terrorists coming across the Southern border. Hell of a way to get border security... :-(
The ONLY other way to “fix” the border is to elect a hard-nosed-on-illegal-immigration President this November, with a Congress (both houses) that will support him.
Unfortunately, a lot of FReepers and others rightly concerned about the border are delusional about what can be done and under what circumstances. Most of our pols are just grandstanding or worse. :-(
Trump really should spell this out plainly, as I think it would improve results this November.
Our production rates are low and new weapons have not, by definition, been produced for long. How on earth do you get "we already have them" in really useful quantities, from that?
Note: "really useful quantities" -- Do NOT fall into some sort of "parity" argument trap. Parity or even modest superiority has failed to deter in so many cases that I could be simply listing them for several hours. Real deterrence occurs in two cases: "MAD" (with lots of nukes), or when one side has such an advantage that it can blast the other side to rubble with little damage to itself in a comparatively modest effort, and demonstrates the will to do so. A good example would be when we sank half of Iran's Navy, plus blasted some other stuff, IN ONE DAY, with a modest size force of our own. Iran clearly "got the memo" as to what would happen if they continued to be a pest. Result: They desisted for a while.
So, to maintain deterrence against our present day enemies and potential enemies, we need superior weapons and we need them in good quantities. A few hundred of this or that doesn't cut it. The new M777-ER is quite a nice artillery piece. Put 200 of those puppies in Ukraine with a deep supply of the XM-1113 shells and Pooty would have some real headaches. Put 1000 in Europe and Pooty would probably take his latest mistress to his bunker and never come out. Put 300 in Taiwan with the new moving target seeking munition (I don't recall the designation) and Xi will likely delay his plans for 5 years, maybe 10. But, we don't have even 100, and I'm not sure we can make over 100 a year at present.
HIMARS is a great system, and we have I believe something under 500 of them at present. I'm pretty sure that B4 ramping up production was well under 100 per year including overseas sales. Is this a lot? Well, let's see: Poland with limited GDP to draw from has ordered 500 just for itself(!), AND ANOTHER SIMILAR ORDER of almost the same thing from South Korea. Plus, the SK order is a joint project where Poland ends up with capacity to manufacture more. Poland can't afford delusions like yours: They are realists by necessity.
There's a new version of HIMARS rocket now that can also track and hit accurately moving targets. IIRC this one was designed specifically for hitting objects down to the size of small landing craft. Pretty nice system for picking off Chinese boats attempting to land troops on Taiwan. SFAIK these may not even be in regular production yet.
Then you claim weapons were not even sent to Ukraine. Curious, as Russia claims more destroyed than we say we've sent, yet almost daily new vids are posted showing Russian equipment still getting popped by these systems. For your part, you have no such proof whatsoever.
Nearly FIVE TIMES the funding for Ukraine as for Israel and TEN TIMES more than funding for Taiwan. Both ISR and TWN were thrown in with picayune numbers to placate their advocates.
