I think its that the hill is part of the cable company behind newsnation, so they’re now reporting news and events more frequently.
We probably should change the name to Free Russia since there often as many articles about Russia as there is about this country, including articles eggs, bananas and other subjects that have absolutely no connection to anything going on in this country.

Well, Congress “can” dictate domestic policy details, but with a split legislature and an unruly House, it’d likely take near forever, and, the Administration could still negate most of the effort with further and more complex policy updates.
IMO in the coming month or two the House should put together a border bill that concentrates on a very few policy points that poll well, pass it, and let the Senate Dems kill it. That will make for good material to use in the election this fall. The key is to win back the Presidency. Without that, I agree, the border will continue to be a disaster.
MEANWHILE, the aid to Ukraine and Israel, particularly the weapons aid, is getting critical. Most FReepers don’t seem to understand the fallout: A failure of the West, there, is going to result in fallout that makes our border problem seem trivial. (And it’s NOT trivial.)

For one thing, the Israel bill Johnson got passed conveniently if temporarily split the pro-Jewish and pro Pali wings of the Democratic party.
2nd, if Israel falls, we likely are not too far behind. At best you’d better plan on your standard of living being suddenly reduced by half for several years.
The cost of aid to Ukraine is NOT high at all in any poll of voter concerns.
For one thing, you are asking a dishonest question. The issue of Israel and Ukraine is not some problem they have with illegal immigration from an otherwise friendly (mostly) country.
Israel has been a friend (well except for the USS Liberty business) since its creation. It is the only democracy in its part of the world. Ukraine, not so much. I do appreciate that Russia needs to be stopped in its expansion but there are a lot of our allies in the region who should find Russian expansion in Europe more threatening than us.
And then there’s who’s going to distribute all of this money. The guy whose ineptitude brought us to this mess in the first place. Russia/Putin, Iran/Hamas/Hezbollah weren’t quite so adventurist back when Trump was President.
So McCaul thinks borrowing money we don’t have, to give away to the Ukes, is a good thing? Maybe his constituents will wake up and primary him. If we’re going to borrow, it should be to secure the border. Of course. if all welfare were cut off (since it wasn’t a power granted to the feddies) that would save us a ton of money.
We are gonna have a reduced standard of living anyway. Might as well put America first instead.
