In primaries, challengers differentiate themselves from the other guy by drawing contrasts that don’t exist. Trump promised to jail Hillary. He didn’t. He promised deportations from day one - a resumption of Reagan-era la migra raids. He didn’t. Haley and Trump are generic Republicans. That’s why both poll similarly in head to head polls against Biden.

What’s “sanctimonious” about pointing out that DT’s current strategy of “name-calling” his opponents is juvenile and imo disqualifying? FR used to be a place to express opinions, not an echo chamber.
