Biden administration announces $366 million for rural renewable energy projects

The Department of Energy announced more than $350 million for rural renewable energy projects from the bipartisan infrastructure law funds Tuesday.

On a call with reporters, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said the $366 million would be allocated across 17 projects in 20 states and 30 tribal nations. Twelve of the projects are on tribal lands, according to Granholm.

“These projects showcase rural and remote communities [and] innovative approaches to clean energy deployment. They span technologies, they are replicable, they’re scalable, and they include everything from building micro grids for community health centers so they never lose power for lifesaving equipment, medical equipment, to constructing a new hydroelectric facility on tribal lands that’ll offset the need for expensive diesel fuel,” she said.

"I feel as if I am in North Korea was this planned economy crap."

Absolutely right. People who know NOTHING about power, meeting a payroll, what can work technically and economically, or P&L are making our power decisions based 100% on politics and sucking up to favored groups. It absolutely makes me sick.

I'd wager half of these projects won't get built or funds will be embezzled and won't get built. Of the half that get built, three-quarters won't work. And of the quarter that actually work, there will be no maintenance and they'll all be dead within five years.

But we all know these stupid North Korean-style grants have nothing to do with generating power. They are all about buying Democrat votes. A third of a billion dollars buys a lot of votes.

These types of things perfectly illustrate why the feral government is at least ten times bigger than it should be.

NOT THIS AGAIN! Will we never learn? Well, “we” got the lesson a long time ago but it sure seems politicians will NEVER get it.

There’s no way for politicians to make us believe they are concerned about anything except the $$$$$ that flow from their idiotic ideas.

All that's missing are the pictures of Biden pointing at things.

“Twelve of the projects are on tribal lands”

A pipeline under ground, no one will see, all hell breaks loose.

Acres and acres of ugly solar panels that work, maybe, 25% of the time, no problem.

The planned economy in NK is probably run better than Jennifer Granholm’s DoE.

Why do we even have a DoE? In fact, why do we have EITHER of the D’s of E? Neither energy nor education are constitutionally permissible areas for fedgov meddling.

During the Trump administration I remember the Democrats getting right before the cameras every time Trump suggested anything The Democrats were screaming ….how is it going to be paid for ….and insisting that the money come from some other program. Now we just have magic monopoly money for everything Joe wants.

When am I going to see Republicans Get in front of cameras and ask how some Dem program is going to be paid for?

Kiss $366 million more dollars goodbye. Somebody’s on track to make a lot of money off the taxpayer’s back.
