The recent surge in subway violence came in the months after the number of cops underground plummeted to levels not seen in years, according to data reviewed by The Post.
The analysis also shows crime fell by as much as 8% during past upticks in police patrols on the subways.
The examination of policing power in the subways comes as the NYPD has again boosted its presence in the system by 1,000 officers per day following three homicides underground in the span of a month.
It marked the worst outbreak of violence in the system since October 2022, when the last surge in subway policing launched.

This is simply about money. The subways were flooded with extra cops who were working overtime details on their days off. They could sign up for them. The detail was stopped to save money. Crimes regressed to the mean. They have started the overtime detail again in order to reduce the crime, again. It’s a never-ending cycle.
New York City obviously needs another Rudy Giuliani. But what they’ll probably get in their next mayor is the worst of de Blasio combined with the worst of Adams.
That’s what happens when you pull that D lever. When you think it just can’t get any worse, it gets worse.
NYC has one chance. Beg, plead, bribe, whatever it takes to have Rudy come back and clean the crap hole up again. We both know that ain’t happening.

It seems you’re correct. It’s shocking for me to realize that the very wealthy doesn’t mind if society crumbles, so long as they are well funded and have their armed guards.

New Yorkers deserve every crappy thing that happens to them. Their problems are wholly the fault of their government, and their government is wholly the result of the voting patterns of the electorate.
I lived there for a couple of years in the early 70’s and I can tell anyone who asks that the vast majority were liberal Democrats then and despite what the Democrats have done to the country I suspect that the majority are still Democrats today So F*** ‘em. They’ve been exporting liberalism to the rest of the country via their elected representatives for decades so no matter how bad it gets there is isn’t bad enough
Adams is a moron and is more concerned with his style and clothing than protecting New Yorkers. The hopes were justified in that he is a former police officer and former Republican so one hoped he wasn’t the typical looney liberal like DeCommio. Instead he just turned out to be stupid and incompetent.

Yep. The middle class can (usually) think for themselves. The elite hate that. So the middle class has got to go.
The Democrats are doing exactly what their plans call for:
1. Destroy the middle class
2. Destroy nationwide police forces
3. Next comes disarming citizens ... Biden is already starting that again
4. Declare a National Emergency and ban all elections
5. Call in the military ... my guess is the UN to “Restore peace and law and order”
6. Establish th Cemocrats’ long sought Edenic Socialist Government ... we don’t need any stinking electings
But Biden said just yesterday that crime is at the lowest level it has ever been in every city in the US.
