Downsizing its force from 494,000 to 470,000 soldiers by fiscal year 2029, the U.S. Army claims it's preparing its fighting force for future wars. The 24,000-person reduction is being touted as serving to restructure the "largely unmanned 'hollow' force structure and build new formations equipped with new capabilities needed for large scale combat operations [as it seeks] a high state of readiness."
Ironically, with continued recruiting shortfalls in recent years, the Army is also claiming the restructuring effort will help "build back its end strength." Over the last two fiscal years, the Army missed its recruiting goals by an eye-opening 26,000 recruits – almost the same number it now claims to be intentionally cutting.

We probably couldn’t field a force of 60,000 combat troops. That’s about 4 divisions. With the USMC that could go to 85,000.
Pro tip: Everytime you are tempted to use the word “they,” parse the sentence to make sure you don’t have a conflict between subject and predicate in number.
They aren’t really downsizing, they are lowering expectations to fit reality. Why would Whites want to volunteer to join an army that operates under DEI rules?
Grand nephew is in his senior year and has been speaking with USMC recruiter. Scared to death but if he is going into any military service I guess he chose the best. At first I was hoping for Coasties but things could get bad fast with all those drug cartels.
I wonder if this is by design. Destroy our military and then we are vulnerable.
Although they would never admit it and probably try to figure out a way to blame the same people that they have hated for years.

Long ago, I was stationed at Hahn AB in Germany. During alerts, I would head down to the Wing CP. Although my title was Army Liasion Officer, I was called to the Eagles Nest when an NBC warfare input was dropped. About a year into that role, we had a female Base Commander, the first at a Tactical Fighter Wing. During her first alert, she questioned why an “Army Lieutenant” was called, instead of her expert, the Base Disaster Preparedness Officer.
She was chewed out by the Wing Commander for a couple of minutes, it was hilarious.
Maybe they’re opening the way for Chinese illegals to fill the ranks.. there aren’t enough sexual weirdos to bring down the country without ‘help’ from illegals...

Use of "they" like that is just wrong. Every time I read a sentence from a Wokester that uses "they" in that fashion...my mind recoils and has to stop to "translate" (no pun intended).
