For the most part, he’s stayed out of the limelight. Beyond a fundraiser for Molinaro over in Dover or thereabouts, he was silent during the last federal cycle. I met him at other events over the years, he’s a nice guy. He’s not as hardcore as a lot of other Republicans, but he was able to get a lot done with the Legislature he had.

He was a decent Governor, despite only having Republican control of the Senate. I worked in the State's Correctional Services, and retired while he was still Governor. He got the death penalty reinstated, but of course the courts eliminated it again, and he removed the college programs from the prisons. When I first started working in the job, an inmate could get a four-year degree from Syracuse University...for free. I don't know if the Dems ever re-instated those programs, but they've managed to steal enough elections in the State to have control of the Legislature by a 2-1 margin in both Houses.
Esposito is terrific- i was at a Zeldin rally just before the election and heard her speak for the first time- blew me away.
Nice...Pataki was a good governor.
