After distancing himself from Donald Trump following his departure from the White House in 2021, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has now revealed he is eager to serve in another Trump administration.
Asked by Fox News’s Neil Cavuto if he would work for Trump again, Pompeo indicated that he would.
“I don’t often comment on jobs I’ve not been offered,” Pompeo responded. “But if I get a chance to serve and think that I can make a difference … I’m almost certainly going to say yes to that opportunity to try and deliver on behalf of the American people.”
He continued:

The guy was the head of the CIA while it was conducting illicit surveillance activities of Trump people for months. No thanks.
And the best SOS we've had in 200 years.
Yes he did.
Loyalty is everything in politics.
This is a pure disqualifier.
HELL NO. He worked against President Trump last time. Screw him.
Assange was a traitor. Even Washington believed in “hanging” traitors. Pompeo opted for having Assange in prison.
So it's "traitorous" to expose the traitorous activity of government?
Trump is a practical person and using obviously insincere people in business is factored in the choice equation as necessary or useful etc. As the wanton women say, flattery will get you anywhere. That is not necessarily a good thing for them and can be fun and useful when used in reverse. Unassailable convictions are not necessarily permanent. Witness the solid politicians who have shortchanged their voters for personal gain.
PBS?
Surely you are joking.
Tell me you are joking.

That opinion would be the minority opinion among FReepers.
“Donald Trump’s secretary of state and treasury secretary discussed removing him from power after the deadly Capitol attack by invoking the 25th amendment”
“Asked by host Shannon Bream whether he would do a better job getting the U.S.’ fiscal house in order than Trump did, Pompeo replied that a “President Pompeo or any conservative president” would do better on the issue than either Trump, President Obama or President Bush.”
“Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday that the nation doesn’t need leaders who embrace “victimhood,” hours after Trump’s 2024 campaign announcement.
...
“’We need more seriousness, less noise, and leaders who are looking forward, not staring in the rearview mirror claiming victimhood,” Pompeo tweeted.
Pompeo did not run against Trump, unlike DeSantis, Haley etc…
He’s right....Trump’s most loyal fans have told Trump to move ahead...
The deep state is seeing that Trump might actually be elected in November and are positioning their opposition personnel to get close to him and thwart his policies while spying on Trump’s every action. He should tell Pompeo to take a hike. Pompeo had his chance but instead of supporting his boss, he cooperated in the spying on Trump and the R/T collusion Clinton created conspiracy.
“Unassailable convictions are not necessarily permanent.”

Agree with you on that point. It is OK to alter your views now and then as things evolve, but people of substance often have strong and enduring principles and values that they live by and which serve as a moral and ethical foundation for them.
The problem with the DC crowd is they have huge egos that drive them and pliable ‘convictions’ that they can bend to their own self-interest.
Trump needs to weed out those opportunists as ultimately they will turn against him.
As long as they say something nice about him then they’re alright and have earned a place in his administration.
