Are The Republicans Getting Ready For The Election Legal Fight Or Are They Blowing It Again
Townhall ^ | March 11, 2024 | Kurt Schlicter

Ronna McDaniel is gone and American patriots should rejoice that her reign of failure has ended. There’s a new team in charge at the Republican National Committee, and this is a really good time to remind everybody that Ronna McDaniel was a total disaster, and there is absolutely no evidence apparent to any of us out in the world that the Republicans have learned anything from their lawfare disasters in 2020 and 2022 and that they are doing anything about it. That should be the Number One job of the new leadership team, even before repairing the damaged relationship with donors that Ronna McDaniel’s inept tenure inspired. We have got to fix the legal problems facing Republicans in elections across the country, but especially in the key swing states, and if we don’t, nothing else is going to matter.

So, what’s going on? What is the Republican lawfare plan? Well, Ronna McDaniel insists that the RNC has 70+ lawsuits going on out there. I don’t believe her, but let’s assume that’s true. Who’s in charge of this massive operation? It’s not going to be the RNC’s general counsel. As general counsel of the RNC, Michael Whatley was responsible for the RNC’s own legal work, and now he’s one of the new co-chairs. The other co-chair is Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, and hopefully she’s been burned hard enough in the past to want to get this right.

But are the Republicans getting this right? A bunch of random lawsuits is not a legal operation. It’s a bunch of random lawsuits. Here’s how I know if an operation is going to be unsuccessful. SNIP>>>>>

I'm sure this effort would have been under way if Harmeet Dillon had been elected to lead the RNC. Now it appears we aren't even at the "better late than never" stage.

As I have said in another threads....

There’s lots of posters that are gaslighting and posting about all the bad things that have happened during and under Trump....

and these things are still going on, so why bother with Trump...

because for them, not re-electing Trump is so much better than re-electing biden or someone else on the left.

Ah yes. The mean bad orangeman who is bad. Prosperity. (My business increased four fold). No wars. Peace in the Middle East. Putin under control. Slowed illegal immigration. China, Iran, a North Korea, and other enemies sanctioned. Cheap energy. Low housing costs. Roe V Wade struck down (granted it was after).

Yeah. Things are so much better with Biden and his merry band of perverts and bureaucrats.

You obviously have ignored recent RNC news. You should know Trump cleaned house there and installed his friends and family to run things.

The RNC is now safely in Trump’s back pocket.

And there’s an example of the nevertrumping gaslighting right there....

macdaniels has barely been out a couple of days, some of the swamp uniparty rinos are just getting walking papers...

and the nevertrumpers are already blaiming the existing problems in the rnc on Trump....

The election legal battle needs to be waged NOW!

We need laws passed that ensure election integrity, election monitoring and severe penalties for anyone that gets in the way.

If you wait until election day, we’ve seen all sorts of shenanigans can be played and nobody ever gets arrested or prosecuted. That’s why laws have to be strengthened.

We also need to pass laws that strengthen and increase audits. We need periodic full forensic audits, especially in contested areas.

We need ot know that the election equipment can’t be tampered with and strong controls to prevent them from being tampered with. And again severe penalties for any election officials not ensuring strong controls or not following them.

From listening to Trumps team looks like they’re going to fight any who stand in their way.

I hope its not too late for the RNC to turn things around. Trump and the RNC need a lot of money.

If Trump wins he needs to demand a recount. Find out who’s ineligible to vote and prosecute. Send a few to jail. That will send a message.

Low housing costs.

You list many good things Trump did. But I didn't see any "low housing costs" here in Los Angeles. Nor in red state Idaho, which I visited during Trump's term.

In places (Texas, Georgia) courts forbade AGs from prosecution. In others judges denied motions and refused to admit evidence.

The RNC staff is now being purged of the slack and disloyal and redirected toward support of Trump. The new chairman is a pro-Trump attorney with RNC and state party experience, while the co-chairman is Laura Trump. Within a week or two, the Ronna McDaniel era will be just a bad memory. Crucially, fund-raising will pick up as donors recognize that their money will be well-spent.

I worked on staff for a Republican state party for years and saw the difference that having the right chairman and staff can make. Crucially, good leaders find and hire talent and then elicit extraordinary effort and team work, with results that far exceed the nominal inputs of money and staff. We have cause to hope that is the RNC's new trajectory.

"I'm sure this effort would have been under way if Harmeet Dillon had been elected to lead the RNC."

I'm with you - but seemed like she didn't have a lot of "powerful" backers. That should have been our first indication she (and us) would get screwed.

I dont think its a good idea to broadcast our plans in advance
to our avowed enemies. Keep it under wraps for as long as possible.
