Boeing whistleblower’s lawyers question whether he committed suicide, call for thorough probe: ‘No one can believe it’

Lawyers for a Boeing whistleblower found dead on the day he was due to testify against the jetliner giant are questioning that he killed himself in a South Carolina parking lot — and calling for an investigation.

“We need more information about what happened to John,” attorneys Robert Turkewitz and Brian Knowles, who represent former Boeing manager John Barnett, said in a statement Tuesday. “The Charleston police need to investigate this fully and accurately and tell the public.

“We didn’t see any indication he would take his own life,” they added. “No one can believe it.”

“No detail can be left unturned.”

John Barnett, 62, was set to testify against airline manufacturer Boeing on Monday when he was found dead in a South Carolina parking lot, reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Barnett, 62, was due in court for further testimony in a bombshell lawsuit against the company when he was found dead, with the Charleston County coroner ruling the cause as a “self-inflicted” wound.

Turkewitz and Knowles said he was also “in very good spirits” as he prepared to give a deposition against the company on Monday.

“John was in the midst of a deposition in his whistleblower case, which finally was nearing the end,” the lawyers said. “He was in very good spirits and really looking forward to putting this phase of his life behind him and moving on.”

Charleston police are investigating the circumstances of Barnett’s death.

Barnett was found in his orange pickup truck with a silver handgun in his hand and finger still on the trigger, according to DailyMail.com, citing a separate police report.

The outlet also noted Barnett’s gunshot wound was near his right temple and there was a white piece of paper also on view in the car, which appeared as suicide note.

I wonder if it would have helped if he had issued a statement, "I am not suicidal if I am found dead it was murder."

The suicide note is what is most troubling.Did Hillary write it? She is awful good at Arkanciding people. Perhaps she hired her services out to Boeing.

Classic line and somewhat related...

Michael:
My father is no different than any powerful man, any man with power, like a president or senator.

Kay Adams:
Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don’t have men killed.

Michael:
Oh. Who’s being naive, Kay?

I’d bet $5 that every corp, in the MIC, has a “wet work” department...

Well, at least the timing isn't suspicious at all. Nope; not a bit.

The lawyers were probably working on a contingency basis and were anticipating Boeing giving them $Millions from this shakedown. This guy really screwed his lawyers.

He was likely living comfortably on his disability benefits from a job that required no actual physical work and was able to pursue his car racing and boating interests. But then his lawyers likely filled his head with faster and more powerful cars and boats and visions of huge mansions and sugar plum fairies.

The reality was probably that his frivolous lawsuit was going down the tubes and Boeing was not going to give him squat. And they might have also frowned on an active person collecting disability benefits for years while claiming that he could not work. The thought of facing his future as a middle class person not able to afford his car racing and boating dreams may have just been too much for him.

I’m wondering about something like that myself.

John Barnett, 62, was set to testify against airline manufacturer Boeing on Monday

He has been suing Boeing for years and had already been "testifying". It was becoming more and more obvious that the big payoff he was hoping for wasn't going to happen. He retired in 2017 on a disability for a job that required no physical work... His legal activity caused him to be under more scrutiny than most disability scammers with active thrill seeking lifestyles. Things were likely starting to come crashing down.

Let us have a detailed investigation by local cops.

Conspiracy is my default position—but I could be persuaded by a solid investigation.

On another thread about this it was mentioned that gun found in lap with finger on trigger; head wound in temple. But the recoil from the shot and immediate limp wrist would not leave his hand in his lap.
