Russia election: Stage-managed vote will give Putin another term
BBC ^ | 14 Mar 2024 | Steve Rosenberg

Posted on 03/13/2024 11:13:07 PM PDT by Chad C. Mulligan

As I walk around Borovsk, two things strike me about this town 60 miles (100km) from Moscow.

First, there is almost no sign of the presidential election coming up this weekend.

I see few election banners or billboards and no political flyers being handed out.

Not surprising, really. The absence of election preparations mirrors the absence of drama surrounding a stage-managed event that will hand Vladimir Putin a fifth term in the Kremlin.

The other thing you can't help noticing in Borovsk is the street art. It's everywhere.

Much of it has been created by street artist Vladimir Ovchinnikov. All over town his work stares down from walls and buildings.

Most of his paintings are uncontroversial. Like the giant globe recounting the town's history. Or the image of a famous footballer.

Increasingly, though, when Vladimir paints a picture of today's Russia, it turns out very dark.

"I call this one Pinnacle of Ambition," the 86-year-old artist tells me. The painting he's showing me at home features a man in a martial arts uniform walking a tightrope over a mountain of human skulls.

"This is what the ambition of someone high up in power can lead to."

More dramatic still is his image of two meat grinders mincing people - one is labelled 1937 (the year of Stalin's Great Terror); the other Special Military Operation (Russia's war in Ukraine).

"We haven't learnt any lessons," concludes Vladimir.

Search "globohomo". One of the favorite words used by the Moscophiles.

Does the pejorative term “Globohomo” bother you? If so, what does that say about you? Are you outing yourself on this forum?

Make your mind up and get your head out of the bunker.

“Because once we are gone evil tyrants will control the earth.”

Er, yup. Which is funnily enough why EU NATO, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan are rather worried about the rather opportunistic enthusiasm for the Monroe Doctrine revival movement.

I’m actually on the “America first” isolationist side. It’s why I’m a conservative who voted for Brexit. And I’m on the side of the “Europe, pick up your own tab” argument too.

But I’m not so far loony and isolationist that I think saving a buck ‘o five is so darned important that we Brits should leave Ukraine, Moldova and the Baltic countries to the mercy of Putin’s almost sexual obsession with Empire.

By the way we’re way less woke than the USA. Our gubmint just banned puberty blockers for kids.

Give me a shout when (a) the USA has done it ANYWHERE either at state or federal level; or (b) when your money guzzling private health system breaks with tradition to vote against its own commercial interest, and bans puberty blockers.

I honestly can't imagine why any American would criticize a foreign country's election process -- or lack of such.

We live in a country that is run by people who aren't elected by anyone.

And they are nothing more than tools who answer to corporate oligarchs who are no different than the ones who run countries like Russia.

At least the Russian one is not pushing puberty blockers, destructive green ideology, rampant lawlessness, and the disappearance of national borders.

yes, and if a lawless gang tries to do a Smash & Grab in Moscow, they'll do real time in a gulag in Siberia. That's my idea of law and order.

Yes, you are, because Ukraine is not your ticket to security. In reality, you are wasting your security & weakening the strength of NATO, Europe & the US by trying to save them with the use of military action, instead of demanding a peaceful resolution & the end of all hostilities.

As much as they want to claim that Putin is another Hitler, it's a false claim. Putin asked to become a part of NATO, but that was quickly rejected. Had we accepted Russia into NATO then the whole of Europe could have been made NATO member states, which would have isolated China, North Korea, & Iran.

We are not isolationists as you wrongly want to claim we are. We have been everything to the free world. So much so, that we neglected ourselves trying to protect freedom for many who were more resentful than grateful, including you Brits & the rest of Europe as well. But instead of using our brains, we tried to do so using our brawn.

Ukraine is the distraction to bring us down completely. Had we ignored your leader Boris Johnson, and told Ukraine to stop the hostilities in eastern Ukraine, accepted Russia into NATO, there would a lot more Ukrainians still alive & Russia would have never invaded Ukraine to begin with.

But by thinking only in terms of brawn, because Victoria Nuland had so much hate for Russia, the CIA ran a color revolution to incite the Ukrainian people into executing a coup d'état. Then using the known Nazi faction within Ukraine to attack & deny Russian speaking Ukrainians their rights, ensured that Putin would have to intervene, as they ignored Putin's attempts to reach a peaceful resolution.

Putin finally came to the realization, by the coup d'état of Trump, that he was being lied to and his only option left was to invade. He did so, but was it to really cause war or to bring the international community to the negotiation table?

We will never know for sure, because idiots like you saw this as appeasement. But it wasn't appeasement, it was a way to create a stronger world order of nation states who had incentive to work together, instead of against each other.

Putin is no Hitler, & this proxy war was game planned by people who abhor the US & the whole concept of freedom. You fell right into their trap, because they have setup Russia to be the trigger for the brain-washed masses. The biggest threat for any nation comes from within. Russia may have some internal dissention, but the free world has far more division as they have thrown up their doors wide open at the behest of those desiring a One World Government, led by them, the elites.

Our best defense right now is to join forces, not to fight Russia, but to fight the Globalists who are behind a majority of the wars we have experienced as the tactics to get more people to support a One World Government, for safety. You know, like their argument was always for the children. Now they want to mutilate children & really desire to eliminate the majority of human to create a more sustainable world, where they are in complete control and the remaining humans become their slaves & sex toys become their

Open your eyes to reality Mal. You are noticing what they want you to notice, in order that you don't see what they want hidden from you. The way to defeat them is to rachet down hostilities, not feed them. But more importantly to stop fighting amongst ourselves to begin with.

What a load of crap. Putin's approval ratings are 80% range since the war in Ukraine began. The standard of living of the average Russian has improved dramatically during his tenure.

I don't a damn what it takes to make Zeeper scum care more about OUR RIGGED ELECTIONS and OUR POLITICAL PRISONERS more than whatever their fantasies are about what is happening in Russia.

The American Last crowd and their representatives within the Republican party must be exterminated.

Ukraine’s Manpower Crisis: No Amount of Money or Aid Can Solve It

Mar 13, 2024

- Ukraine is suffering from a growing military manpower crisis in addition to a lack of arms and ammunition;

- Trained military manpower takes up to half a year to produce, new brigade-sized units can take up to 30 months to stand up;

- Ukraine and its Western sponsors simply cannot produce trained military manpower faster than Russia is removing it from the battlefield;

- This leaves the collective West with the choice of either accepting it has lost its proxy war with Russia, or attempting to intervene more directly;

Time to “cut bait” on this stupidity.

Let Europe deplete their people, military hardware, & ammunition, since Putin & Russia are so scary to them.

Our Congress instead of sending money, should be telling NATO countries, if you send your military personnel into Ukraine: “You’re on your own.”

Socrates willingly admitted to, and was convicted of, corrupting the morals of the Youth of the City (State).

He was what fits the current description "GloboHomoNazi", and was killed for his Policy and Agitation.

I’ve noticed that zeepers not only post this stuff from leftist sources, but lately they’ve been putting flame-bait in their introductory comments, such as this garbage:

“But there are those here on FR who laud Moscow as a beacon of freedom compared to the West.”

And they get offended when we say that they’re disrupters? That’s flat-out pot-stirring BS right there.

I can’t believe you’re this ignorant. Wait - actually I can. Let’s recap, shall we? First, Chad makes this perfectly reasonable (and provable) claim that …there are those here on FR who laud Moscow as a beacon of freedom compared to the West.

Then you, in a feeble attempt to defend your fellow Putlerists, make this stupid statement:

Can you please provide a link to a post where someone here said anything even resembling this?

It took me, like, two minutes to find such a post. To wit: in response to an article titled 'Russia an Island of Freedom in Raging Sea of Cancelled Morality' - Head of Russian Church Sermon, one of your fellow Vlad-worshipers posted: That’s the way I see Russia too...

Pretty clear, right? Now, at this point, a responsible and decent American, having been proven utterly wrong and embarrassed by his foolish post, would respond with some acknowledgement of having been owned so plainly or (preferably) would just shut his fat yap and slink away.

But sadly, you (and some other ding dong here), bearing no resemblance to the aforementioned decent American, feel compelled to respond with (in a whiny voice, I imagine): ”but, but, but that was two yeeeaaars ago!” So what? That makes it like it never happened? 😂

Furthermore, to your idiotic defense of Patriarch Kiril, as if there is no connection between him and mass murderer Putin, check this out:

With his luxury watch and murky Soviet past, Patriarch Kirill is Putin's spiritual leader and power broker

Similar to finding a post from some wingnut praising how “free” Russia is, that article was incredibly easy to find, suggesting that there are many, many more. Your feeble defense and refusal to accept your beclowning are pathetic.

Have you seen Medvedev’s seven point plan for peace?

RT reporting it as if he’s just posting a joke while drunk. And TASS is reporting it.

https://tass.com/politics/1759529

Trouble is, that’s not QUITE what he said.

This is by my estimate an accurate translation of what he posted online.

https://www.econjobrumors.com/topic/medvedevs-peace-plan-seems-reasonable

This is what peace with Russia entails. Impossible and untenable demands in 2021, impossible and untenable demands in 2024.
