"Outlaw your car" sounds like such an outrageous phrase, and technically speaking, it isn't true — but only barely. What practical difference is there between outlawing something, and regulating it out of existence? That's exactly what the EPA intends to do this week with strict new rules going forward against gas- and diesel-powered cars and light trucks.

They have SWAT Team(s), and lots of ammo.
I’m sorry to hear it.
Agreed. EV's should be free market -- no coercion. No subsidies. I don't see EV's being practical for most people.
My wife and I are happy with both our EV (drove it 26K miles last year) and our ICE pickup. But that's because our driving habits and climate fit well for most of our miles to be in an EV. The miles we put on it make the gas savings and oil change savings worth the extra costs that come with an EV.
But that's our particular needs and wants. Not others.
WRONG: There is no Executive Order... read the article. If you can prove me wrong provide the EO.

That’s exactly what the EPA intends to do this week with strict new rules going forward against gas- and diesel-powered cars and light trucks.
Expected as soon as Wednesday, the Biden EPA “is poised to finalize emissions rules that will effectively require a certain percentage — as much as two-thirds by 2032 — of new cars to be all-electric,” according to Inside EVs. Politico sells the expected rule as one that would “tackle the nation’s biggest source of planet-warming pollution and accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.”
The rule would require carmakers to cut their average emissions of carbon dioxide by 52% between 2027 and 2032. EPA projects that the standard would push the car industry to ensure that electric cars and light trucks make up about 67% of new vehicles by model year 2032.
Originally set to be announced in April of 2023, but again according to Inside EVs, it “received a strong rebuttal from dealer groups, car manufacturers, and petroleum companies.”
“Many said the U.S. was not ‘ready’ for such an aggressive EV push, as prices remained higher than internal combustion cars on average and the nation’s charging infrastructure is rather lacking.”
Yeah, I’m an old school VCDS guy, but that ought to be fine.
Americans should quit purchasing cars in this country. Just shut down the car businesses. Turn the money guys against the EPA and official DC. We don’t need to allow this. The Government has no power to regulate business in written law. This is overreach for going on 100 years. There is NO reason to allow government to continue as is.
Quit paying income taxes as one bloc. Shut it down, if Congress won’t shut down the government and live within a budget, shut off the spigot that pays the interest to the Fed.
It is either that, or we are going to have to go through a bloody revolution.
Am I crazy, or do we live in a country filled with future slaves?
Exactly. The problem is if those of us who own the power, we don’t exercise it. We vote, and then complain when we are screwed by our servants.
2020 masks, 6 feet apart, one way grocery aisles, shutting businesses.
There’s your answer.
70% of the population are sheep or lemmings.
Come on, “Our side” led to the creation of the EPA along with Congress authorizing their authority to be used under the precept of Administrative Law that is directly controlled by the Executive Branch. The biggest enemy we have is the Statist GOP because they have stabbed the individual in the back (You know where Dems are coming from) since the late 19th century. Coolidge has been the only one that was active in limited government from a position of high influence. Reagan talked a good game but his actions actually expanded debt/government.
My next-door neighbor has a 1967 Camaro in her garage, and I'm tempted to try to obtain it. Her husband passed last year. I kept asking him over the last 35 years what he was going to do with it, he always said it was for his son. But his son is not interested in it, and is not mechanically inclined. The wife says it is a valuable car, but it just sits there rusting away with junk in and on it. I told her it is not as valuable as she thinks, because someone would have to sink $40K into it to make it nice. I could fix it up, easily, and have lots of experience working on Chevy's.
Problem is, owners think their non-running junkers are more valuable than actual reality. If you want a vintage ICE car, find the best example you can find, or have deep pockets to fix it up.
Vanishing Point was one of the all time great car movies! And btw, one of my first cars was a 1968 Fury 3 with the 383 police power package! She was a retired Utah State Police car. Wish I still had her!
Can Biden do an EO to make car parts for old ICE cars illegal?
Detroit, Germany and Japan have already said they won’t do it.
Emperor Poopy Pants can go solve his personal problem in China.
We are tired of cleaning up his mess.
You’re a legend, I’d bet.
Obtuse and coarse? Not a problem, IMO.
I’ll be voting for Trump, of course.
There is zero chance that the country’s infrastructure could be anywhere close to ready by then. Not only will people not be able to charge them but our roads are not ready for that kind of weight. What kind of new tax will pay for all of this when the gas tax is reduced?
One of the factors leading to the demise of the soviet union was the satellite countries began to ignore the central govt.
They won’t build nuclear power plants. They won’t generate electricity by burning coal or natural gas. They won’t burn oil. They want to tear down damns, so goodbye to hydro-electric generated power.
Where are these moonbats going to get the electricity? Plug into John Kerry’s a$$?
They won’t generate it by their stupid wind mills, which don’t spin most of their time or their Chinese made solar panels.
Right now, only 4% of the world’s power is generated from wind or solar, at a great financial expense and at a great expense to nature, including birds.
The WEF wants us starving, living in hovels, electric everything thatb they control, using social digital currency for “approved” purchases, eating insects, beholden to them as the New World Order.
auto parts manufacturers, auto part stores, tire dealers, all car related business’s will all be affected , millions of people lose jobs etc, don’t think the dems have thought this through .
