Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) “unleashed the demons” when he spearheaded an effort last year to oust former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from his leadership post.
Gingrich was responding to a question from Fox host Laura Ingraham about why some House Republicans, including Reps. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) and Mike Gallagher (R-Wisc.), have been leaving Congress before the end of their terms.
Gingrich said that, in part, Gaetz’s effort last year ending McCarthy’s tenure as Speaker should not be downplayed and that, since then, the lower chamber has been a “disaster.”

Gaetz pulled off the demons’ masks. One can argue that it might have been wiser to keep playing along until Trump was back in office, but one can’t argue that the Republican majority is in any way equivalent to a conservative majority.

What’s funny is the Democrats fancy themselves as being the ones who are like herding cats. They see themselves as independent thinkers while the Republicans are like the borg cube. But a statistical look at congressional voting patterns shows the Democrats to be much more disciplined.

I’m so tired of this loser mentality. There are a lot of things Speaker Johnson could have done. He opted instead to give the Democrats everything they wanted and more. He’s no different than Boehner, Ryan and McCarthy.
America is on life support. If Johnson can’t handle the job, he should quit and let someone else do it. No excuses.

You don’t remember when Rush would say the same about democrats? One thing Pelosi did was she learned how to herd her cats. Jeffries has maintained that discipline. On the other side of the coin, it’s easier to do when you’re the opposition party. Newt’s greatest successes were when he was a minority back bencher. When he had to be responsible for governing, it became more difficult.

Agreed! I’m all for primarying the cowards, throw their useless a$$es out, but at least have a damn PLAN about what you are going to do next! By the time these two get tired of grandstanding, Speaker Jeffries will be putting the final nail in coffin containing the Constitution.
I agree. Trump talks about it all the time...34 trillion in debt, corrupt foreign policies, lawless border, millions entering illegally, every war we win nothign but death and debt, American homeless everywhere while the corrupt professional politicians blow hundreds of billions on foreign countries. I would define this as treason. A real s**t show.
China got better in technology. They are distributing that product here.
