I have no doubt that this information is being compiled.

A long time ago (in the early 90s) a company called Fair Issac sent me an early draft copy of their proposal to create a “credit score” prior to that loan officers used a copy of a credit report and employment history and possibly personal knowledge of the borrower to approve loans.

but with the rise of unsecured cards like visa/mc/amex, gas cards, department store cards creditors needed an easy (quick) way to assess if an applicant would be an asset.

The surprising thing to me was how quickly it was implemented after the final copy was approved.

I still have a copy somewhere I think.

probably the esg scoring infrastructure is complete, they are just trying to understand what the data means.

for example in large coastal cities the patterns of people are very different than in flyover country.

If they had asked me I would have said give the flyover folks a huge upward curve so they are within a certain percent of some other metric.

I have not wanted to think about this much since I don’t do that kind of work anymore.

It is a full-scale social credit system being built out. Only it isn't the government per se doing this, but rather companies that aggregate information about you and sell it to actors who want to isolate dissenters from their ideological commitments.
