Iran wants Mecca and Medina and will kill anyone in the way or die trying.
““brotherly Palestinian people...”
Seems like the Saudis should be willing to take in their “brothers”.
> It declared that Saudi Arabia would not establish relations with Israel until the “brotherly Palestinian people obtain their legitimate rights”… <
If the Saudis said anything less they’d be inviting a coup or an assassination attempt. They surely remember what happened to Egypt’s Anwar Sadat after he made peace with Israel.
Building American foreign policy on the survival of the Saudi monarchy is building on sand, in more ways than one.
They put condition on it they know Israel will not accept.
But at least they tried. /s
None of the Arab states, possibly excepting Jordan, will collaborate in the expulsion of the Palestinians. "Taking them in" is just a nicer way of saying "Kicking them out".
Nixon bet the supremacy of the American dollar on the survival of the Saudi royal family.
It held for more than five decades.
Nothing lasts forever.
Should have drilled for our own damned oil.
Note to the Saudis - not going to happen.
The Arabs had their chances, in 1948, 1967, 1973 and beyond, and each time chose destruction of Israel over peace and a state of their own. By their own hands, they have determined the “two state” solution has passed.
It would be better that Jordan and Egypt, each of whom has peace treaties with Israel, come up with some form of joint administration, with Israel, of Gaza and the “West Bank”.
And then there is the question: How would a Palestinian state (made from the existing Israel) be different from Hamas, a Palestinian state?
Drilled our own oil...
Picked our own cotton...
Made our own clothes...
Made our own gadgets and toys...
It’s a long list. I agree. Time to bring it all home to do it ourselves again.
“And then there is the question: How would a Palestinian state (made from the existing Israel) be different from Hamas, a Palestinian state?”
It wouldn’t; because the “victory” would be a racist-ethnic-religious “victory” and the state would be forever caught up in that, like Pakistan, and always at war with someone. Sooner or later Jordan would fall to the “Palestinian State” and later others would be threatened.
Yes,”establish relations” with them.
The sauds have built man made islands for themselves.
Why couldn’t they do that for the Fakestines?
I wonder if the Saudi Arabian’s consider the Yemeni Houthis their brothers? Am I right, AM I RIGHT? /double spit
“Why couldn’t they do that for the Fakestines?”
They don’t want to. They really are not fond of “the Palestinians” even though at the same time they have a fraternal (ethnic and religious) concern for the Arabs of Gaza and Samaria.
Many folks don’t know that in many Arab countries, the orgiginal and now descendents of “Palestinian refugees” living in their lands still either cannot or have a hard time getting citizenship there. Meanwhile every Arab within the borders of Israel, from 1948 on, has been given Israeli citizenship.
You can see in all that the moral and ethical difference between the Israelis and the Arab states.
