I’m with the MTA here.

New York Road Runners (the organization that puts on the marathon) has an annual revenue of over $100,000,000. They make $15+ million just on entry fees for this event alone.

Why should the taxpayers and toll-payers of NYC subsidize someone who shuts down one of their bridges for a day?

Because the wine moms and yoga-latte girlfriends love the marathon. They matter. The little people don’t.
