Texas GOP lawmaker to run full-page ad in New York paper urging cops to move to the Lone Star state

Texas is busing illegal immigrants to New York City, but one of its lawmakers is calling for New York cops to pack their bags and move to the Lone Star State.

Rep. Beth Van Duyne, Texas Republican, will run a full-page ad in the New York Post on Tuesday urging law enforcement officers that it’s “time to escape New York and move to Texas.”

“Every New York Republican understands these courageous officers are put in impossible, life-threatening circumstances and I’m sure they want what is best for them — which may be to relocate to a law and order state like Texas,” Ms. Van Duyne told The Washington Times.

She said, “The vast majority of [Democratic representatives] from New York City are part of the defund the police, soft on crime, mass illegal immigration crowd who couldn’t care less about the lives and families of these brave officers.”

Ms. Van Duyne’s ad says that Texas is looking for good officers to fill its ranks, and addresses the recent murder of New York police officer Johnathan Diller, calling it an “utterly tragic loss.” The defendant charged with his murder is a repeat offender.

Yeah, but will they give up NYC pizza, supposedly it is the water in the dough that makes it so good, and if they move to Texas, they will probably vote for democrats.

Honestly, I don’t want NY cops in Texas. They’re bound to bring some of the leftist stink with them, even if unintentional.

Sorry I don’t agree!!! I have sympathy for the NYC cops but they have been trained in the wrong culture for Texas. I cannot visualize a Texas Trooper with a NYC accent and attitude.

I have only visited the area one time and those people sounded like they hate each other in their normal conversation. New Yarkers need to go to Florida where they would be more at home!

If the NY cops do move to Texas they will have to be reschooled that there is NO SULLIVAN LAW in Texas.

The Sullivan law came into being when a criminal gang leader got himself elected mayor, banned guns by other gangs, but not his own.
He later went mad, escaped an insane asylum and was run over by a train.
In today’s world he would be walking the streets of NY beating up on people.

I don’t think NY cops vote for Dems People forget not ALL New Yorkers vote democrat

The pizza is a problem. It is the water, the regional flour and the atmospheric conditions- sea air particular New York se air that produces New York pizza. That and the lack of concern for good cheese good olive oil and good marinara that makes pizza impossible to find in landlocked places in Texas.

Can’t find a good tortilla anywhere in New York.

I was wondering the same thing. Historically NY has had the most corruption in law enforcement than any other place in the country. He might be inviting criminals with badges.

Actually, the New Yorkers who move to Texas, Florida, and other Red states are or tend to become Republicans.

That didn't occur to me, but you are absolutely correct.

I’m fine with them moving here if they are conservative, reasonable, law-abiding people.

Is she crazy? New York cops are the worst. That’s all we need is more high cost pensions eating our budget. Where is she from?

I remember the late Colin Flaherty saying a few years ago that Eastern Oregon and Washington state police departments, mostly small to medium-sized towns, were full of ex- Philly, Chicago and New York City cops.

They want to keep themselves and their faimilies safe.

We used to have a Hill Country Ex-Police Officers association. At our annual barbecue one year, two retired NYPD officers who had retired down here were invited. They were horrified that off-duty and retired officers were openly carrying (this was before CHLs in Texas). One said he’d never have served where anyone besides on-duty officers could carry legally.

We don’t need New York cops here!
