I'm really pissed at this judge Merchan... He has no business presiding over this case, he has personal conflicts of interest big time.

But of course, he's too corrupt of a judge to do the right thing and recuse, just like all of the other corrupt judges going after Trump. I want this judge off the bench permanently, he's proven he doesn't have the temperament required to be a judge.

Not contesting my man’s right to be present but a cursory search showed precious few defendants are at arguments

No witnesses either

It’s counsel and oral arguments

And spectator gallery first come gets seats

Right to attend in a legal sense? Not aware of any right that’s being legally violated here.

Due process.

Trump is engaging in weird posturing about this. He’s a defendant in a felony trial, and is at the disposal of the Court like any other felony defendant on trial. There’s no general expectation, to say the least of right, for any party, to say the least of a defendant in an unrelated criminal trial, to appear at an appeal. (They are usually attended only by counsel.)

What this does underline is that if Trump is convicted he cannot expect lenient release conditions. 24/7 home confinement in New York with an ankle bracelet, except to the extent necessary to attend other trials or medical appointments, is to be expected. Denial of access to electronics except to call his criminal lawyers is a real possibility - meaning no taped or live video at rallies or the convention, no television or radio ads, etc.

A point you apparently missed in all your “expertise” on SCOTUS proceedings etc.-— is accepting the FALSE premise of “boinking” a porn star. It did not happen, and incidentally there is deposition and court addressed letter from the flabby olde “star”— that it did not happen. So this is just trolling for cash paid to this slut by dnc cash machine. So you understand. It did not happen, and therefore your assumptive causative accusation that Trump did so, when Barron was born. No factual basis for this whatsoever.

Thanks for playing. Nite nite.

Here, the Judge should called a one day recess to permit Trump to attend the Supreme Court hearing.

This is a personal vendetta between all the NYC judges and Trump. Remember that Engoron wouldn't let President Trump attend his mother-in-law's funeral, too.

I believe that all the judges want to inflict maximum pain on Trump while they can.

It’s probably better you don’t just throw irrelevant terms out there. Due process doesn’t apply in this instance. Trump is getting the Supreme Court to hear is arguments for complete presidential immunity . He simply isn’t obligated to be there. He is, however, obligated to be in court for a criminal trial.

Good luck with that. For the Supreme Court to accept a corrupt state judge can order the nominee for one of the two parties cannot campaign.

yes and it is the client who filed the case so I would think they would have the right to be there Thomas should order trump’s presence.

Judge Juan could not write a better Amicus Brief to the Supreme Court for Trump’s argument than this. It demonstrates exactly the kind of frivolous abuse that politicized lower courts could inflict on the Executive when they are corrupted like Merchan’s court is. I think that Trump’s attorneys should go ahead and file this order with the Supreme Court.

We can continue this after the trial. You know, when there’s evidence and testimony under oath and all that.

Trump won’t speak in front of scotus even if he attended.

This speaks louder than Trump could ever speak anyway. If I was a Supreme, I would be more that a little pissed at this upstart Judge interfering with the docket. It's a shame about Barron's graduation though. The Judge is certainly taking care of his daughter.

I won’t be continuing this— because this won’t be continuing. No matter what the tabloids and dumba@@es in NY think they can do. They push the right buttons and they’re gonna find out w/out even time to f around. The state of NY is a clown State—deserving of every derisive derogatory statement made about it. It is a piece of well worn fecal dust with a mound of human debris feeding on the scraps growing in the dust, sown by themselves. Pox be on them- and it will be.

SCOTUS is an appellate court. I don't think there is much for a defendant to do there.

Once a case reaches SCOTUS, the issues are no longer the specifics of the appellant's case but the general constitutional implications of the rulings when applied nationwide.

In the Presidential Immunity case, SCOTUS won't be looking specifically at President Trump's claim (they will be looking at the rulings by inferior courts on Trump's claim relevant to prior case precedent, defendants' rights, and constitutional interpretation), but SCOTUS will be more focused on the implications to future Presidents when determining the boundaries of Presidential immunity as it affects their ability to do the job.

SCOTUS will be looking at separation of powers issues, at Presidential immunity versus Congressional oversight, at Presidential immunity and the judiciary, at Presidential immunity versus impeachment powers, at Presidential immunity versus federal indictment, etc.

There's really not much for President Trump to do besides sit there stoically and sneer at the Justices.

Third, if Barron means so much to him, maybe don’t boink a porn actress when your wife just gave birth to the kid.

Are you aware of some proof that nobody else is aware of? We have this thing in America. It's called innocent until PROVEN guilty. And you really think the kid should be deprived because of your argument? If so, you are an ass.
