A North Korean delegation led by the cabinet minister for international trade is visiting Iran, the North’s official media says in a rare public report of an exchange between the two countries believed to have secret military ties.

The minister for external economic relations, Yun Jong Ho, left Pyongyang on Tuesday by air leading a ministry delegation to visit Iran, the North’s KCNA news agency says. It gives no other detail.

North Korea and Iran have long been suspected of cooperating on ballistic missile programs, possibly exchanging technical expertise and components that went into their manufacture.

Nobody is demanding Israel nuke Iran.

There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Oct 7 demonstrated beyond all doubt that Iran must not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

As if their assistance to 17 of the 19 9/11 hijackers wasn’t reason enough.

Iran also gave a bunch of drone assistance to Russia. I wonder what they got from Russia.

Iran's deadly hypersonic missile can evade Iron Dome and strike Israel in '400 seconds'

Iran claims to be in possession of a hypersonic missile capable of reaching Israel within 400 seconds while evading its Iron Dome defense system.

The Fattah II rocket can fly 15 times faster than the speed of sound, Tehran says, and has a range of up to 1,118 miles (1,800 kilometers).

What are Iran’s missile capabilities?

Straits Times
UPDATED APR 14, 2024, 01:12 PM

TEHRAN – Iran launched missiles and explosive drones at Israel on April 13 in retaliation for a strike on its embassy in Syrian, drawing on an array of weapons that has long worried the West.

Ballistic missiles are an important part of the arsenal at Tehran’s disposal. According to the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Iran is armed with the largest number of ballistic missiles in the region.

Types of missiles

The semi-official Iranian news outlet ISNA published a graphic this week showing nine Iranian missiles it said could reach Israel.

These included the Sejil, capable of flying at more than 17,000km per hour and with a range of 2,500 km, the Kheibar with a range of 2,000km, and the Haj Qasem, which has a range of 1,400km and is named after Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad four years ago, ISNA reported.

Oh no? I’ve seen fifty replies on threads I’ve started lately flippantly insisting that Israel do precisely that. These same fools will show up on this one too. Btw, how do you now skin that Iranian cat?

Even if Iran acquired a couple of nukes they might not come out an announce it. I still think they are a ways from getting a deliverable nuke though.

Whatever you want to call it, the situation changed radically 4/13/24. There is now a strategic balance between Iran and Israel.

That horse has run off and the barn done burned down. The days of Israel attacking Iran proper and assassinating Iranian citizens with impunity are over.

Um...if you’ve been paying attention, through all the fog the knives are going right to the heart of the matter: 10/7 is slowly undermining not only the Israeli government, but its support as well. I don’t believe Iran was capable of such a plot.

So I ask you: In the face of a totally not-secret Iranian assault which - under normal circumstances - would have resulted in rapid escalation and $200/bbl oil, who made sweetheart deals with Iran and is buoyed by deep state interests who seek to keep the cash flowing in their race to both world destabilization and transformation of the US?

It ain’t Kim Jong Un.

I also never believed:
1. That the IDF could fail so badly as they did 10/7,
2. That our alphabet agencies knew nothing about it,
3. The story of ‘why’ hamas initiated the 10/7 provocation,
4. That Iran would approve of such an attack without a long game,
5. That the Iranian ‘retaliation’ was anything but a smokescreen

There’s more, but I’m tired and I think I made my point, except for one thing:

6. I never believed that 9/11 was any surprise whatsoever to certain elements of our government.

We’re being played.

“The days of Israel attacking Iran proper and assassinating Iranian citizens with impunity are over.”

Really? I have no doubt Israel would go after nuke sights in Iran . They would try to avoid Iranian civilian casualties as best they could, but when the chips are down, Israel is going to fight with all they have in order to survive.

“North Korean officials make rare public visit to Iran”

Notice the headline says “Public visit”

Not the 1st & not the last.

Of course, it’s all about deterrence. The deals, the transfer of technology has been completed. It’s like the not so public Pakistani meeting last week and the follow up public meeting this week. Iran has the nuclear retaliatory capability, whether domestically produced or provided to them by their partners. The delivery system was demonstrated two weeks ago when Iran put ballistic missiles down the pipe of Israel’s three most heavily defended targets, the two air bases and the intel base.

Then the Iranians would take out Dimona while trying to avoid civilian casualties. It’s as simple as that. Even the Western narrative admitted the Iranians put nine ballistic missiles down the pipe of the most heavily defended, along with Dimona, targets in Israel two weeks ago. The Iranians didn’t even have to use their hypersonic missiles in doing so either. Israel might have access to more nukes than Iran does but after ten nuclear explosions in Israel why make the glass rubble bounce with more?

They could try. You give the Iranians more credit than they deserve.

” Iran has the nuclear retaliatory capability,”

Not yet, as far as I’ve read or heard. They don’t have a nuclear warhead yet.

Go back and check the repeated assurances Pakistan has given Iran over the past six months of providing them a retaliatory nuclear capability if Israel crosses the nuclear threshold. Russia and its client, the NORKS, will not allow Iran to be steamrolled. You, I and the West really have no idea what the Iranians have developed domestically. Iran has been a “nuclear threshold state” for years. The nuclear capability Israel has vis a vis Iran is quite plainly ONLY the Samson Option. Netanyahu is free to invoke it. Millions of Iranians will die but Bibi will kill more Jews in the process than Hitler did.
