A major part of his [1966 election] platform was to “clean up the mess at Berkeley” and other college campuses throughout the state that were experiencing protests and strikes over issues that included the military draft, civil rights and “women’s issues.”
In a campaign speech, Reagan said many leftist campus movements had transcended legitimate protest, with the actions of “beatniks, radicals and filthy speech advocates” having more to do “with rioting, with anarchy” than “academic freedom.”
He faulted university administrators and faculty, who “press their particular value judgments” on students, for “a leadership gap and a morality and decency gap” on campus, and suggested a code of conduct be imposed on faculty to “force them to serve as examples of good behavior and decency.”
Six months after becoming governor in 1967, Reagan wrote a letter to Glenn Dumke, chancellor of San Francisco State College, who opposed the unrest occurring on many California campuses.
In it, Reagan condemned “these people and this trash” who used “the excuse of academic freedom and freedom of expression” to justify continuation of the protests.
“We wouldn’t tolerate this kind of language in front of our families.”
He called on Dumke to “lay down some rules of conduct and promised “you’d have [all the] backing I could give you.”
We need to hear more of this type of talk to counter the anarchists and hatred of Jews and Israel and support of terrorist organizations on today’s college campuses...

I’d actually like to see counter demonstrators urging Death to Gays or crying out “from the Atlantic to the Pacific, America must be White”. (Doesn’t rhyme, but it will do.). We could decorate flags with flaming crosses, like swastikas.
It’s the same thing the Hamas people are doing on campuses now. It cannot only be OK to say these things against the Jews. It must be OK to say it against any minority groups. And if it’s not OK, then it’s not OK.
The LGBTQ community has to know they are next and it won’t be pretty.The liberals create something then abuse it, then set it on fire and walk away.
They’re protesting on campus because they’re afraid of the real world but sooner or later some of them will try a terrorist attack

I remember some decades ago when the homosexuals would go on rants and say, “Don’t try to fix me! I’m not broken! I was born this way! God made me this way! Don’t tell me to go to some medical professional so that I can be normal! This is who I am!”
And today the transgenders say, “I deserve to be fixed! I’m broken! I was born the wrong sex! God screwed this up but I know how to make this right! All I need are some medical professionals who can make me into the person I am supposed to be! I deserve to be the opposite of what I am!”
There is a fundamental disconnect between these two world views and it cannot be sustained.
In 1966 when Reagan was the Governor of CA he was checking out the protests at UC Santa Cruz and a commie nut went up to his window and yelled “We are the future!” Reagan asked an aide for a sheet of paper, wrote something on it, and pressed it to the glass. “I’ll sell my bonds,” read his reply.
I’ve got a “Reagan as Che” T-Shirt I like to wear to on my shopping rounds sometimes. Nearly every time I get a knowing nod, a thumbs up or someone saying “Nice shirt!”. Yesterday, three people, including two unlikely looking folks in maybe their early 30’s made very positive comments: “We need him now!” “He was a REAL President”, etc. We need a solid leader, but my sense is that people aren’t confident that our society/systems, given corruption, can provide one.
At The Ohio State University, 40 people were arrested at the riot. Only 6 were students.
No messing around here. Time, Place and Manner for protests will be enforced!

Odd (to me) hair style, tattoos, piercings. I’m Old Fashioned, I suppose, and associate these things with more leftist/woke people. It gave me some hope for the future!
Don't include me in your "we". Counter demonstrations would be good, but not of the variety you advocate. (And I know what your response will be.)

Exactly! The line was crossed when the rioting and assaults began.
If idiots wanna stand around peacefully blotting on and on about how supposedly evil Israel and America are, then let them- they are just wasting their breath with their altruistic nonsense, but once they disrupt business. Traffic, people’s lives, and begin threatening and committing violence, they cease being a body of protest and become a body of riot and disruption-
Arresting them and then letting them off the hook does no good- th3 left used the Jan 6 protestors as “an example” by Imprisoning them falsely, but our side can’t even arrest and CHARGE the left rioters when they commit far more aggregious offenses than jan 6 protestors did!
