So what is going on in NC.. Trump is dominating, but Robinson appears to be failing to launch so far... at least in the polling... So, to the folks on the ground, what's really going on down there?

Republicans suck but how the heck are Democrats (still) getting 50% of the vote? The economy is horrible, 2 wars, inflation, etc-—and people are still voting for these morons?

No Democrat is “politically moderate”.
He/she/it/whatever is “politically corrupt”.
Yes, more than a few Repulsicans are that way also. And yes, we keep reelecting all these ***holes and expect different results.

I live in Raleigh. The town, and surrounding areas (Apex, Carry and Garner) are left leaning by all accounts, but there is a strong undercurrent of closeted conservatives. Mark is Trump on steroids. He has absolutely obliterated all of the sacred cows of the left, especially the LGTBQ. He’s not well liked in the capital city. I will vote for him.

The Democrats usually have better candidates for Governor. If that's the case, they'll win.

The Republicans have been winning all the national races in NC. Kay Hagan won the Senate in 2008, the last time the Democrats won a seat in NC.

I’m extremely doubtful about this poll.

We wish that Trump will “dominate” in NC but neither party is going to do that. If people ignore outlier polls on the left they better ignore the same type on the right, otherwise they’re just deluding themselves.

The North Carolina gubernatorial election is shaping up to be somewhat like the one in Kentucky, where an empty-suit liberal Rat is being opposed by a black conservative (Mark Robinson in NC, Daniel Cameron in Kentucky).

As happened in Kentucky too, the liberal has a sizable advantage in fundraising, with Joshie Stein having all the money in the world and Robinson trailing by several million dollars. The liberal wing of the GOP (scumbag Thom Tillis, etc.) is making a point out of NOT supporting Robinson and not funding him either.

I’m not in NC but I’d wager that Stein’s media campaign of lies and hate is running 24/7 everywhere while Robinson’s media presence is far more low-profile by comparison, if it exists at all.

UNLIKE in Kentucky, Robinson is a fighter while Cameron turned out to be a lukewarm bowl of milk and went down meekly.

Good luck to Robinson. He’ll never be heavily favored in any reliable poll (or in November), but it damn sure ought to be close in the end and not any blowout in favor of the sleazy A.G.

I think they’re manufacturing a narrative. Rs + Dem blacks will vote Robinson. I expect 40% of blacks to vote for him.

The Uniparty can cheat black conservatives without any repercussions whatsoever. No one is going to pursue auditing Dominion or insist on hand counts. The lamestream media will put it down to "racism" on the part of republican voters.

This is EXACTLY what happened in KY in their recent governor's race. Republicans SWEEPED the board EXCEPT for the governor.

What’s going on? The stupid party strikes again. We keep putting up black conservatives and we keep getting our asses kicked: Kari Lake, Herschell Walker, John James for Senate, Daniel Cameron .... the list goes on and on. Tim Scott was appointed. Look, I personally love all of these candidates, but you have to look at reality. Blacks will not cross party lines to vote for black republicans, and these candidates do not excite the conservative white base of the R party. There is a reason why Caitlin Clark juiced up viewership of women’s CB, and why Tiger Woods juiced up minority viewership of golf in 25 years ago. This guy in NC won’t draw 10 extra blacks to his side, but he will drive away 2-4% of the conservative whites. Contrary to what MLK said, the color of a person—and not the content of their character—impacts elections.

The NC legislature is veto proof GOP so they can pretty much make their own way regardless of who the Governor is.

Still blows my mind Kansas Re-elected her in 2022.

Her initial election wasn’t surprising after the mess the previous governor made of the state, particularly financially... but to stick with her for another term, still kind of surprised me.

I’m afraid the Tarheelers will do to Robinson what the Kentuckians did to Cameron last year.

Democrats, including Josh Stein, are raising mountains of cash, swamping the Republican candidates and controlling the narrative of each election cycle from start to finish, and their base continues to out work, outraise, and out organize the conservative/GOP base that continues, election cycle after cycle, to sit on their behinds and keep their wallets closed.

I skimmed through most of the comments.

Well, while Georgia and Atlanta became the, New Black South, NC and Charlotte became the, New South. Both to the demise of both states.

It seems impossible for local politicians to say NO to any development.

They’re incapable of being the least bit skeptical of any company wanting to relocate and living up to the hype.

They never question “all the jobs they’re bringing” and realize that all their liberal employees/voters come with them, with a handful of jobs going to locals.

The company leaders talk about better quality of life for their workers, low taxes, safety, yet NEVER admit that their voting habits and political ideology destroyed where they are running from.

No one talks about the unannounced, backroom deals that cost the tax paying locals under the guise that 1000s and 1000s of jobs will be created. In reality, allowing a tsunami of northern liberals moving in and causing some to be priced out of their homes.

And so much of that is done with the eager help of “Republicans”.

So the Democrat being in the lead in the polls might make sense as the state continues to get flooded with Liberals and illegals figuring a way to vote.

Happening all over the south and Texas.
