What should be splashed across headlines nationwide is oddly quiet. In a muffled bombshell, Pfizer, a titan in Big Pharma, has just settled a shocking 10,000 lawsuits linked to cancer and the antacid Zantac. Yes, you heard that right—banishing heartburn could now be a deadly choice, thanks to Big Pharma. These are the same so-called “experts” who rushed to declare their sketchy COVID vaccine was perfectly safe even before it was properly tested. Now it’s clear why so many people were skeptical—and rightly so.
Big Pharma has turned marketing into an art form. They hook us with catchy jingles and fun little cartoon commercials, making their products seem almost wholesome—and, of course, totally safe. Take this old ad for Zantac as a perfect example:

No, FDA study showed that NDMA levels where acceptable during manufacturing, but would rise if stored at high temperatures. Not sure who stores their Zantac at 70 Celsius
A study by Emery Pharma3 assessed the creation of NDMA during the natural degradation of the ranitidine active pharmaceutical ingredient and finished drug product over time at different temperatures. The study found that 150 mg of ranitidine tablets USP contained 18 ng of NDMA at baseline, but after storing it at 25 °C for 12 days, NDMA dosages increased to 25 ng, and storing it at 70 °C resulted in a dose increased to 142 ng. Ranitidine 150 mg, sold as Zantac Cool Mint, was found to increase from 19 ng NDMA at baseline to 70 ng NDMA when stored at 70 °C for 14 days, just below of the FDA’s maximum acceptable level.
The specific mechanism of harm is not Zantac in the proper approved form but a cancer inducing compound that develops as the drug decays over time before being consumed. The strongest proof is elevated rates of several types of cancer with no other risk factors. To collect on the settlement or a law suit requires that one get such a cancer after taking Zantac. At the worst, Pfizer will be paying for cancers that their drug might not have caused but probably did based on the medical evidence.
