(CNSNews.com) - If you've ever wondered from where environmental activists get their money, you're not alone, and a Washington, D.C. think tank is drawing a map to help follow the money.

The Capital Research Center (CRC) is preparing for its Monday launch of Green-Watch.com, an online database and information service that monitors "about 500 or so different environmental groups, focusing on their funding - where their money's coming from and what they're doing with it," said CRC Director of Communications Andrew Walker.

"It's constantly a work in progress," Walker commented. Currently, the site is focusing on domestic environmental organizations such as the San Francisco, Calif.-based Sierra Club and Eugene, Ore.-based Earth First.

Also included in the database will be information on some international organizations that use the U.S. for their base of operation.

"What you see is that a lot of the international ones end up really being based in America or affiliates are connected with American organizations," said Walker, who noted Greenpeace International as an example. The militant environmental group is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

Most of the funding information uncovered and reported by CRC is the result of combing through public records. "Nonprofit groups have to file what's called a 990 form with the IRS," said Walker. "That's public knowledge that you can get a copy of that and see who is funding them - where their large donations come from."

CRC started building its database for the Green-Watch.com site about 2 years ago, Walker said and now, "it's gotten to the point where we're ready to take it public."

"we live for the day when the Grizzlies in Chihuahua have an unbroken connection to Grizzlies in Alaska;"

Laughing hysterically here, and hoping they find one in THEIR back yard!!
They have to be absolutely mad, and live in city environs!

I lived in Fairbanks for 3 1/2 years and saw many bears - a griz I did not meet face to face -
thank You, God.
Watched a film of a friend who hunted one down and shot it in the spine with the equivalent of an elephant gun...
The darned thing dragged its paralyzed body 500 yards to a sapling and tried to haul itself up to do battle!
It must have been over 10 feet tall.

On the way to Alaska over the Alaska Highway, in an outpost in the Yukon Territory wilderness to refuel, the propritor asked if our boys would like to see a wolf he had shot the day before, keeping it until he could turn it in for the bounty.
Taking us into his large garage, it had a rope tied to its hind legs, hoisted over the high beam there.
It quite literally was the size of a Shetland pony, its nose nearly touching the ground...awesome!!

May each of these loonies be visited in their habitat by one of each of these wild critters to teach them they do NOT belong in the same area as Mankind...
they need to roam free wherever GOD decides to place them.

Animal Liberation Front -(NUTS who are better known as ALF)

Stole 14 beagles from a Huntingdon Life Sciences Group facility and harassed a Charles Schwab brokerage until it agreed to stop trading the stock. The actions caused Huntingdon's stock to drop 45% to 4.3 cents a share.

Has taken credit for four separate attacks on Maine fish and game clubs causing $7,000 to $15,000 in property damage each time.

Believes genetic engineering is the key to creating a perfect "pain free" society.

"Carries out direct action against animal abuse in the form of resuing animals and causing financial loss to animal exploiters, usually through the damage and destruction of property.'

THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF HELL

"We have enslaved the rest of animal creation and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form."
William Ralph Inge

Each day we butcher millions of other sentient beings because we like the taste of their flesh. The functional development and intensity of suffering of our victims tend to match the capacities of human infants and toddlers. The contrast in our attitude and behaviour toward them could scarcely be greater.

Imagine the anguish caused by an oxyacetylene torch applied, if only to a few seconds, to your child's face. Unspeakably appalling? Yet each day we pay - by our choice in food purchases - to have other living creatures treated no less abominably.

Snip...

Would .global veganism ensure a cruelty-free world? No, not by itself. Life in a state of Nature is often little kinder than a life of barbarous abuse by Man. Should we respect the ways of Nature simply because they are "natural"? Or is homage to the pain-ridden products of selfish genes as harmful a superstition as any? In one sense, after all, animals no more need liberating than babies and toddlers need liberating: they need looking after.

This can be done only by using genetic-engineering and nanotechnology. This major transition in the evolution of life will replace the DNA-driven pain and malaise of our evolutionary past. The molecular architecture of the old Darwinian Era will be succeeded by modes of consciousness that are more beautiful than anything we can currently imagine.

Some people who care deeply about animals are still shocked at the implications of such an ambitious species-project. Many animal-lovers would oppose the loss, for instance, of the symbolically-charged big predators in their traditional guise - in spite of the cruelty and suffering inflicted on the weak, the old and the vulnerable that their present carnivorous habits entail. Indeed to anyone of a humanistic or spirituo-religious disposition, the blueprint to put an end to the primeval DNA regime might seem the vision of a soulless technocrat. Yet there's nothing soulful about rampant, pointless and utterly out-of-control suffering. The much-advertised "Death of God" shouldn't spell the loss of paradise, too; and there is only one scientifically literate way its promise is ever going to be realised.

What is the Animal Liberation Front?

The Animal Liberation Front (A.L.F.) carries out direct action against animal abuse in the form of rescuing animals and causing financial loss to animal exploiters, usually through the damage and destruction of property.

The A.L.F.'s short-term aim is to save as many animals as possible and directly disrupt the practice of animal abuse. Their long term aim is to end all animal suffering by forcing animal abuse companies out of business.

It is a non-violent campaign, activists taking all precautions not to harm any animal (human or otherwise).

Because A.L.F. actions are against the law, activists work anonymously, either in small groups or individually, and do not have any centralized organization or co-ordination.

The Animal Liberation Front consists of small autonomous groups of people all over the world who carry out direct action according to the A.L.F. guidelines. Any group of people who are vegetarians or vegans and who carry out actions according to A.L.F. guidelines have the right to regard themselves as part of the A.L.F.

By all means DON'T miss this one... PRESS HERE

Animal Rights International

Established "to support alternatives to product testing on animals and to reform the treatment of farm animals."

Publishes the Coordinator's Report, issued periodically.

Its leader the late Henry Spira urged moderate tactics but discloses: "My dream is that people will come to view eating an animal as cannibalism. . .Clearly, animal rights and eating animals don't mesh."

In full-page ads in the New York Times it accused poultry producer Perdue Farms of "farm factory" overcrowding that leads to disease and cannibalism in chickens.

After protests by its Coalition to Abolish the LD50 and Draize Tests, cosmetic company Revlon agreed to award Rockefeller University $750,000 to study non-animal research methods.

Encourages companies that conduct animal testing to "sponsor research into devising substitute tests of equal or greater accuracy that do not require the use of animals, or that use fewer animals and minimize their pain and suffering."

If you think that was sick try this one...

Action on Smoking & Health

Established "as the legal-action arm of the anti-smoking community" and to oppose a "constitutional or other legal right to smoke, even in one's own dwelling."

Filed a 1994 legal complaint asking FDA to regulate as a "drug" the new, smokeless cigarette developed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco.

Claims responsibility for many anti-smoking laws.

Supports smoke-free environments in hotels and restaurants and on airlines.

Fights for anti-smoking legislation, promotes use of lawsuits to restrict smokers' rights, and seeks restrictions on all forms of cigarette advertisement.

Opposed the $206 billion settlement between four tobacco companies and 46 states because it was negotiated in secret and makes unnecessary concessions to the tobacco companies. Sued unsuccessfully to stop implementation of the deal.

Citing EPA studies, it argues that homes of smokers are inhospitable for rearing children. Whether a legal guardian smokes "must be considered . . . when viewing the sustainability of a household environment in which a child is to be placed." Started the “Clear the Air Campaign” in 1997 to encourage all homes to become smoke free.

Calls on U.S. Food and Drug Administration to assert jurisdiction over nicotine in tobacco products and "correct[s] the legal mistake it made 50 years ago when it exempted tobacco from regulation because little evidence existed on the addictive properties of nicotine."

Opposed Bush Administration nominations of Sen. John Ashcroft to be Attorney General and Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson to be Secretary of Health and Human Services..

Sued to mandate smoke-free domestic airline flights and restrictions on cigarette advertising in stadiums and ballparks.

Publishes bi-monthly ASH Smoking and Health Review, as well as monthly newsletter.

Credits its efforts as instrumental in Maryland's 1993 decision to ban workplace smoking.

Charges that tobacco manufacturers Philip Morris, British American Tobacco, and Japan Tobacco International started a global youth anti-smoking campaign to increase smoking's appeal to youth: "Stressing that smoking is an adult activity will make it more attractive to young people."

Wants British government to investigate the cigarette black market: suspects the tobacco industry may be involved in smuggling operations.

Favors setting an age limit at which a child can watch a movie in which one or more main characters smoke.

Litigated unsuccessfully to force the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to regulate smoking in the workplace and set indoor air quality standards.

Animal Welfare Institute

AWI's annual Albert Schweitzer Medal for "outstanding achievement in the advancement of animal welfare" has gone to Sen. Robert Dole (R-KS); former EPA chief Russell Train; primatologist Jane Goodall; Rachel Carson, author of Silent Spring; and House speaker Thomas Foley. Political connections (Steven's husband is a former Democratic National Committee treasurer) arguably account for many AWI legislative successes.

Founded by former shelter worker Christine Stevens, it has helped pass 12 of 14 existing federal animal protection laws, including the Humane Slaughter Act of 1958, the Animal Welfare Act of 1966, the Endangered Species Act of 1969, and the Improved Standards for Laboratory Animals Act of 1985.

Beyond Beef

Supports decrease in worldwide consumption of beef. Identifies beef cattle as "one of the gravest threats to the Earth's ecology." Publishes quarterly Beyond Beef Newsletter.

Sued the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in 1993, alleging that putting "USDA inspected/passed" labels on meat and poultry products that might contain harmful bacteria violates the Federal Meat Inspection Act. A settlement revising labelling rules was reached.

Compiles statistics showing cattle raising contributes to "global hunger and poverty; deforestation; soil erosion and desertification; water scarcity and pollution; depletion of fossil fuels; global warming; loss of biodiversity; damaged health."

Aims to "reduce individual beef consumption by 50 percent; promote the consumption of grains, vegetables, and fruits instead of beef; promote organically-raised beef."

The mass exodus of people from all over the world into Florida is having detrimental impact on our environment. Citizens of Florida have arrived at a point of no return. Many animals and plant species are disappearing FOREVER !

I (kinda) apologize for making fun here -

Good news that somebody is doing this. I only hope they'll be able to get some media exposure. Many people are ready to hear some truth about the greenies.

You're probably aware of it already, but just in case anybody hasn't read it, here's a link to the Sacramento Bee series about the growing corruption of environmentalist organizations:

Greenpeace, USA

Uses civil disobedience and direct action tactics to protest nuclear testing, whale and seal hunting, and toxic waste dumping.

The largest environmental organization in the world, with a membership of 5 million and offices in 24 countries according to Forbes. As a "skillfully managed business," it has mastered "the tools of direct mail and image manipulation — and tactics that would bring instant condemnation if practiced by a for- profit corporation."

Claims that its Global Ancient Forests Campaign has successfully pressured companies like 3M, Pacific Gas & Electric, Radio Shack, and Kinko's to "move away from products derived from clearcutting of majestic ancient forests." The Campaign makes four "central" demands: "(1) No logging in any of the remaining pristine valleys; (2) No new roads in the ancient temperate rainforest; (3) An immediate end to clearcutting; (4) A timely phase-out of industrial logging in ancient forests."

Goals include: establishing Antarctica as a "World Park," protecting the U.S. coast from damaging oil and gas development," campaigning "against any attempted revival of the nuclear power industry," and stopping "immediately the production and use of chlorofluorocarbons and all other ozone- destroying chemicals."

Argues that "the time has come to phase out the 110 operating U.S. nuclear power plants which poison the countryside and continually threaten us with another Chernobyl."

A 31-year old employee of the group's Seattle office won $12,000 in damages against the group in July of 1997 for sexual harassment, complaining of the office as "unprofessional" and a "frat-house type of environment."

Supports members who demonstrate against current policies by chaining themselves to light posts outside of the White House, locking themselves to railroad tracks, parachuting off of smoke stacks, and swimming next to U.S. naval vessels.

Opposes the U.S. government's policies allowing "destructive drilling in ... delicate coastal ecosystems."

How can Planned Parenthood, a supposedly non-profit organization, get grants from the Department of Health & Human Services in the MILLIONS? They are also funded by the Educational Foundation of America, American Express, Chase Manhattan, J.P. Morgan, Allstate, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Sun Microsystems, Corning, Lincoln National Life, General Mills, U S West, Duke Power Company, May Department Stores, etc.PRESS HERE

In one year from 1995 to 1996 government grants and contracts accounted for $171.9 million, more than one third of Planned Parenthood' $503.1 million budget.

WHY?!

Death by Degrees

Physicians for Social Responsibility is preparing the Death by Degrees reports for different states around the country to alert their residents to the damaging health effects of climate change and to encourage them to reverse global warming's deadly course by reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

These detailed reports have already been released in some states, and are nearing completion in several others. Look for new reports in the coming months on Arizona and Florida.

Physicians for Social Responsibility believes that health professionals have the responsibility to educate their patients about the dangers of gun violence, specifically the dangers of gun ownership. In an effort to raise physicians' awareness of this responsibility, PSR has produced a booklet called "Counseling Patients on Gun Violence Prevention: A Pocket Guide for Physicians and Nurses" The guide discusses the medical professional's role in talking to patients about the dangers associated with keeping a gun in the home, and provides guidelines for conversations with patients in a clinical setting.

Physicians for Social Responsibility represents more than 20,000 physicians, nurses and health care professionals devoted to nuclear disarmament, violence prevention and environmental health.

The next time you visit your doctors be sure and ask them about gun violence, global warming and fossil fuels.

The foundations are behind it. That's interesting because Congressmen Reece of TN and Eugene Cox of GA launched investigations into the foundations for subversive activities in education (Gransci-type of subversions)in 1952 and 1953 and were shut down by the elite. They were stonewalled by the foundations during the hearings.
