Just Wanted to see if anyone agrees that Gary Condit has had the best week of the year. Did he get lucky or what. Anyone heard his name mentioned once the past two days?

Funny that you posted this, I was just thinking that Condit was behind the attacks in an attempt to get attention off of himself.

Barbara Olson freepmailed with me more than a half dozen times where we discussed Gary Condit. He is on my backburner right now, but I will not forget. As much as I will focus now on us reacting with strength, Gary Condit is still sitting on that House Intelligence Committee. In Barbara's memory, I will fight again, at the right moment, to make sure that no longer stands.

Yeah, Condit got lucky for sure, but so did Robert Blake.

I was going to make this very post but thought I would wait until some of the tension subsided. Yes, Gary is yesterdays news and the lose of an intern seems pretty insignificant when faced with the masacre of 30,000 innocent lives.

To stretch the issue a bit, Condit sat on the Intellgence committe which could have put him in a players position.

I know the thought of suspicious sounds ungodly but after Clinton.... do you think Clinton would have taken out the WTC to divert attention from Monica...mmmmmmmmm

Dish Network satelite guide had Condit's biograpphy scheduled on A&E tonite. They aired the bio's of Happy Day's actors instead. My guess is that the climate was wrong to air the show based on present situation. I wish they would all run the Dan Rather interview piece with Bin-Laden, 24 hours a day.Condit will get what is coming. The public will most likely have become more puked over the guy after all calms down. Righfully so, our priorities of the moment allow Condit to take up space for another month or so.

Any bets that Congress stops bickering over the 3 billion in military spending that Bush has asked for? My guess is that it has the green light.

Kinda think immigration policy may change too--possibly the bringing in more foreigners for IT work as Greenspan suggested or giving amnensty to illegal aliens may be on back burner too. But thot that Condit got lucky crossed my mind this morning also.

Yesterday, during the waves of shock and trying to comprehend what was happening....

I did think of "what was I thinking of before all of this"

Among the people that came to my mind were the Levy's (not really Condit himself) and how heartbroken they are, now knowing their daughter is out of the headlines for a very long time now.... And on top of all their saddness, this most tragic day in our country's history.

But I think you're right.....Condit is lucky (for now)
