It's late -- and you know what your mind does to you in the middle of the night. So if I sound over-alarmed, forgive me. Keep this thread bumped.

BUMP BUMP BUMP - JohnHuang2, can you hit "the list" for us? Have we freepmailed these folks yet? Perhaps someone will know where they are, or will have even contacted them...

He surely would have noted that he was LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW OF THE SECOND TOWER if he was...
To: Jim Robinson
Jim,
Is there some way you can make sure that the following thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3b9e0a1165f1.htm
...is archived/protected from deletion? As you can see in my post, it may contain the last words of a FReeper who was an eyewitness in the second tower.
Also, Jim, is it possible -- without violating anyone's privacy, and without disclosing anything to us -- could you send these three FReepers an e-mail asking them to respond?
If any of these people worked at a WTC company, and frequently posted from work, it is possible they registered their FR accounts using their companies' e-mail addresses. Jim, you might recognize certain company names in their e-mail addresses.

What's the state of telecommunications in NY? Perhaps their communications link was damaged in the bombing. Maybe they just post from work (no home PC?) and they haven't been back since the bombing.
Just throwing out some possibilities other than the unthinkable.......

Another thought - perhaps one or more of these FReepers are assisting in the aftermath and have not had time to post.

He surely would have noted that he was LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW OF THE SECOND TOWER if he was... That is a good point -- but read his words again (or for the first time if you haven't yet):
"I am in NYC. The tower just collapsed. It is chaos here. People have been seen JUMPING out of the towers to try and save themselves. There is black ash falling all over the city. It is a nightmare that no one has ever dared dream. I am speechless." -- posted by thefactor at 10:07 a.m. Eastern on 9/11/2001
"Words cannot express what is going thru our heads right now after watching that tower fall. That building is something that I, and in fact everyone in this country has known as a symbol for this great land of ours for our entire lives. And it just disintegrated on top of firemen, police, and civilians. Thousands are dead most likely. This is hell. Pray for us as we pray for you." -- posted by thefactor at 10:20 a.m. Eastern on 9/11/2001
Captain, I hope you are right. You have provided me some sanity with your fresh air and common sense.

NY is in chaos. People were evacuated and they may not have access to the Internet. Many communications lines are down so they may have been cutoff from the outside world. I hope and pray that one of these is the reason.

NY is in chaos. People were evacuated and they may not have access to the Internet. Many communications lines are down so they may have been cutoff from the outside world. Actually, this really isn't the case:
1. We are not in chaos. We're shook up, but the streets are calm, people are going about their lives, and life is orderly -- very orderly.
2. I know of very, very few people actually evacuated from NYC, except those directly around Ground Zero. Power has come back on there. Manhattanites are still here. Workers are commuting into Manhattan every day.
3. Communications are fine, except for lines in the buildings that are down.

If you are right next door to a collapsed building you are not on the internet talking about it.
To: Silly NOT!, jacquej, prambo
I made several posts to the thread you linked to - just re-read the whole thing. My God, it was like it was happening all over again.
In re-reading, I have to ask after the FReepers who reported family in the buildings in addition to the ones you are requesting info on.
FReeper jacquej reported that his/her brother-in-law and nephew both worked in the building. Any word? jacquej?
FReeper prambo's son and daughter-in-law worked there. Any word?
Praying for all.
