Congressional Record on Military Expenditures
Self | Self

Our country is now preparing for a long, difficult, and costly campaign/war against enemies of our way of life. We also will be facing the campaign spin blitz which will be coming from the politicians in a few months looking to be re-elected to congress in 2002. While our decimated military forces are preparing their response against the world’s terrorists, we as citizens should also prepare our response against those who have contributed to the reduction in the military and those in support of that same military.

How can we obtain the records of the congressional votes on military spending, gun control, intelligence spending, etc. for the current members of Congress, Republican and Democrat? Is there a public record of their positions on these topics? Can we get previous campaign statements related to them? I believe we must use this information in support of those individuals who supported our military and individual freedoms and especially use it to CRUSH those who have continuously tried to reduce our military. We have a long history of short attention spans and extremely short memories. Six months from now we must start reminding the populace of the past actions of our elected officials.

Two additional comments. In reading hundreds of the postings to these forums in the last few days I have noticed two stupid items constantly being said. First, Allah is not Satan. The word Allah is simply the Arabic language word for Jehovah. Allah is not Satan, Allah is the same God we refer to in “God Bless America”. Secondly those who are stating they will only give GWB three or four days to attack Bin Laden or they will vote Democrat should remember the Democrats had eight years without doing anything. Give the man the patience he has requested.

I think you have a point here. The folks responsible for squandering the so-called "Peace Dividend" should be taken to task. Not only should the votes be examined, but the speeches made by these people need to be exposed and articulated as well.

Over the weekend I read here on FR where someone posted part of the Congressional record. Very distrurbing to hear democrats (notably Rep. Barney Frank) rationalize cuts in counter-intelligence because the Head Start program in Denver had to be shut down for lack of funds. The bottom line is that these people acted upon the belief that educating four-year olds and pandering to the soccer moms and the liberal media are more important than the security of the republic. Their actions are disgraceful, contemptable, and in short, perfidious.
