Inquisition. That's interesting because the Spanish were the Inquisition people, it's something they actually learned from the Islamics who had overrun Spain for many years. After a long and difficult struggle, they freed Spain from Islam but the Inquisition was directly an influence they had from the Moors.

If you can defend Islam, then certainly you can defend the Inquisition which was a result of Islamic influence. It started in 1478 after 700 years of Islamic domination in Spain. How can you blame the Spaniards at all if they managed to pick up some of the traits of their oppressors? Also the Spaniards learned the only way to defeat them was to fight fire with fire. Very unlike the politically correct Americans who think just a lot of love and kindness can win them over.

In reality, you have to admire the Spaniards for being tough enough to do a reconquista. Not very many countries have gotten rid of Islamic rule out once they let it have a foothold.

In the Koran, believers are taught to use all forms of war against those who do not believe (kafir, those inferior, Christians and Jews) as deeds of their faith .

In Islam countries Christians and Jews are taken as prisoners based on their faith, tortured and that's not even getting into the harsh parts . As with Isreal which they war against . There have been Hindus in Tibet, amongst other places and religions which have suffered do to these teachings .

Now, it would bring horrible press coverage to do these things openly in America (duh) . It'd also paint a bad picture of those having to resort to propoganda and lies to us "infidels" if they were to try to have an uprising and treat Americans as those Muslims have in other countries .

In short we can be thankfull to be in America, but we must be aware and alert of such things . Fortunatly now we are and have every reason to be .

That's why I said "media mantra", I forgot to put my /sarcasm tags up. Lately everytime some security expert or concerned caller talks about the dangers of Islamic fundamentalists (they want to wipe out unbelievers) on FOX news, the reporter starts sounding like Barney the Dinosaur and adding that the word "Islam" means peace. It's getting ridiculous already!

You are trying to understand the subject and you rightly know that the whole issue is spiritual and its roots are deep in world history.

Can someone answer this question:
In the commentary of my KJV - Scofield study Bible, It says that Islam presents the biggest challenge to Christians because Islam is most like Christianity.

That statement both surprises and confuses me. I would have thought that Christianity was most closely linked to Judaism - the antithesis of Islam.

Wasn't it Abram's effort to fulfill God's promise in his own way the start of the Arab-Israeli conflict? This being God's promise that the descendents of Ishmael would be against the descendents of Isaac.

Seriously, we hear much about the pleasures awaiting faithful Muslim males, but what happens to Muslim women? Do they turn into houris? Also, why can't they drink wine while alive but can guzzle away in Paradise?

The real point here is that this is a spiritual war and this will in the end be Christianity against Islam. Much of the war will be fought in the caves and valleys of the Middle East and much will be fought in prayer. These people have been fooled by the greatest liar of all time. When your doctrine says that it is good to kill Christians then it is obvious where this doctrine originated. Mohommad is a false Christ and we are now seeing the fruits of his teachings.

Well, put. Behind the phoney politics on both sides in an attempt to peacefully co-exist, I think both Christians and Muslim realize that what you say is true.
It is a war of Satan against God's covenant people, Israel and the body of Christ..which is the Christian church. And the Arab vs Jew conflict goes back thousands of years to Abraham.
