For Him Who Has Ears, Let Him Hear
self | 9/20/2001 | LS

Posted on 09/20/2001 7:48:53 PM PDT by LS

Unlike many here, I did not think this speech came up to the level of the powerful National Cathedral speech last Friday. But in terms of laying out exactly what the national strategy was, and in seeking to prepare the public for a difficult mission, only a fool could fail to see what the President said.

1) Everything . . . EVERYTHING else is on the back burner. Yes, he will continue to do the other work of the nation, but from the comments about airlines to the creation of a new cabinet level position of "homeland defense" (somehow I see William Wallace charging out!), this is the alpha and omega of the Bush administration. I submit to you that he was even telling us, "Hey, even if you reelect me in 2004, I am not going to quit until this charge is kept."

2) As in 1898 (a war Libertarians hate more than others, if that is possible), the President issued demands that are "un-meetable." This was deliberate. The Taliban had its chance to save the Mullah's butts. Now come the guns. Bush wins this one no matter what---if, by some incredible turn of events, Afghanistan hands over the terrorists (which I think is impossible for that government, even if it so desired), Bush is a wizard. If they don't, he is the warrior. The demands were not for the Taliban. They were for Americans---a lowest denominator of what would be acceptable as blood tribute for the carnage.

3) This is the key part, and for those who had ears to hear, let them hear: this "war" will be long, it will be SECRET. I think we will not hear of some of the greatest successes until months or years after they have achieved their goal. Imagine an entire conflict in which "MAGIC" and the "ULTRA SECRET" were the battlefields. We are close here. I think that even if the military captured Bin Laden, there would be NOTHING said for some time. The purpose is clear: inflict terror on the terorrists. Never let them know when, how, or if you will strike. Don't signal your next move by patting yourself on the back, or telegraph your pattern by talking to the media.

4) There will be casualties. President Bush said so subtly, but plainly, by saying this would not be like Kosovo.

You have to give the moronic terroists some credit: they have done the impossible. They have made Tom Daschle and Richard Gephardt actually act like AMERICANS; they have made Gary Condit and Bill Clinton completely irrelevant; and they have in four flaming explosions exposed liberal Hollywood's anti-American biases. And, as a bonus, the Hez-boob-las managed to turn CNN into an objective news service, at least for a few days. At this rate, I hold out hope that Ellen and Rosie will announce their forthcoming engagements to males! These two dozen Muslim fruitbars have somehow united 99% of the U.S. House of Representatives (Ms. Lee, phone Mars), improved airline safety, and likely saved us from an anemic economy attended by the squishy, pushing us full-spread into a recession that will demand the Fed and Congress alike chop interest rates and taxes. They have virtually ensured the opening of ANWAR, reaffirmed the necessity to carry guns for self defense, and awakened Americans to the dangers of loose borders without offending a single Mexican!

All of that, of course, isn't worth the life of a single New York Policeman, or any of the now-estimated 6000 people who evaporated or were crushed in those buildings. But those people did not die in vain. Whatever memorials are built in Pennsylvania and Manhattan, though, they ought to read: "They Died That We Might Stand United and Live Free." And President Bush said that, too.

Great analysis. The terroists may have caused us to wake up in a changed world, but they changed their world also, much more so in fact.

They have a tireless machine after them now, running them here and there, making them live in fear. I can almost smell the sweat of Saddam from here.

As for the Congress and the Senate, there is nothing like someone coming close to giving you a 747 suppository to send you screaming to President Bush for protection. I wonder if they would still be playing politics if the Pentagon had not been hit? It was a wakeup call of the most spine stiffening kind.

I am amazed each day, even before this atrocity, at the events of life that underscore the despicable! career of Bill Clinton.

and so many in just the last week.

This attack and the (as yet unrevealed) career of his wife as a New York Senator are... Shakespearean.

As an aside a poll I just saw on nightline that 57% of those polled think that this war will last years.

While there is one drummer saying that the message is, "They Died That We Might Stand United and Live Free."

There is another Drummer saying the message is,

Lu 13:3 "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them,
think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

If you follow the roots and derivatives of the word "Siloam" you find some clues to The Name of that Drummer:  Shiloach shee-lo'-akh or (in imitation of 7974) Shelach (Neh. 3:15) {sheh'-lakh}; from 7971; rill; Shiloach, a fountain of Jerusalem:-- Shiloah, Siloah.

>For Him Who Has Ears, Let Him Hear

For Him Who Has Ears to hear what the Spirit sayeth, Let Him Hear.

Bttt. I agree wholeheartedly.

The cliches about how the vicitms didn't die in vein or how this will make us stronger are incredible manifestations of personal arrogance.

They were murdered. In vanity. They died in because of incredibly sinful vanity of the terrorists, ney the hijackers premeditating their mass murder.

Until we as a nation return to God, we will simply amplify the arrogance of that grossly unrighteous act.

There is the law of unintended consequences. It is the great downfall of proactivity. No matter how many times it happens in history, why despots, totalitarians and now terrorists insist on attacking great sleepy democracies escapes all reason. In the words of the great Reagan: "There you go again". They will reap the bitter consequences of uniting a bickering clan.

>They died in because of incredibly sinful vanity of the terrorists.

I am referring to the vanity and arrogance of a nation that has murdered 100 million of its own babies and exported its sins worldwide. The four sins of Sodom, like America, are these.  They are summed up in the words "pride" and "arrogance."

Eze 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

The Lord has the authority to speak on the subject and did.  Among His promises are those to raise up the enemies as destroyers of the disobedient nations who say but refuse to do:   God can't do this to us! (Click here.)   He created the waster to destroy.

I suspect we as a nation are guilty of a litany of heinous sins. The worst is placing any God before Him. I agree that this is also probably Divine Discipline, but I suspect we will be disciplined much more mainly because there isn't a huge revival occuring to return to Him. Groups are judged and disciplined as well as individuals. Too few Americans recognize, let alone believe this anymore.

Selah!

Now that a somnambulent nation has awakened, perhaps we can persuade them that willful slaughter of our own unborn is evil and to continue in the complicity is to seal our own destruction. I find it astonishing that the sudden assault worked at the very time when this nation was having trouble discerning that individual human life does begin at conception and is endowed by THE CREATOR with the inalienable right to life! We may get on our faces and thank Him that His angels of protection were withdrawn for only an instant. But if we do not turn from our wicked path, those angels may be ordered to step away from US ... and in the words of a wonderful Lady, there will be Hell To Pay.

Michael Savage said earlier tonight (before the Speech) "Liberalism in America is dead after Sept. 11, 2001."

This MASTERFUL & IMPECCABLE speech was the "verbal coda" of its death knell.

Bush has been called by DESTINY to lead the Nation & the World at this HOUR!

Let us jooin him in vigilance and courage.

It is important to recognize the difference between Discipline and Destruction.  Some of the false doctrines that have been swallowed whole HOG by the apostate church have turned them from being Christians into being "What me worry?" Secular Humanists bound for Destruction.

Pr 13:13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

To  "despise" means to not esteem highly enough.  That is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.  That is taking the name of the Lord in vain.

Ex 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

You might want to hold up on the "divine Judgement" and "God's Wrath" analysis. I have no doubt that individuals in this nation and throughout the world have deeply offended G-d. However, the Sheep and the Goats, the Wheat and the Tares, the Branches of the Vine are to be left alone until the Final Judgement.

This is not my opinion. Matt 13:24-30. 25:31-46. John 15: 1-8.

G-d's Wrath is for the chosen people in the Old Testament (Deut 28). The OT covennent was abolished on Cavalry. A New Covennent was established by the Incarnate G-d (Luke 22:20).

We are due for one TERRIBLE judgement in our futures. Not a system of periodic rebukes from G-d. Theologically, there is no basis for referring to divine judgement currently (unless you are an Orthodox Jew). John 3:16 & 17. GOT JESUS?

I know some other drummers that preceded Elijah and Joshua into battle . . . and victory. This somewhat oblique and meandering post neither lifts up Jesus nor addresses the issue of security. Try to be a little more relevant.

God does not discipline through terror or destruction. God disciplines through His Word. Yes, He can USE terror and destruction, the way a parent can USE a kid burning his hand on a hot stove to teach. But don't for a moment think "God did this," or "It was His way of teaching." I don't buy that for a moment.

It is absolutely true that when God withdraws His protection, all sorts of bad things do happen, because there is no restraining Satan at that point. It is also true that AT TIMES, innocent have paid along with the guilty. But not very often. God was willing to save Sodom and Gomorrah for ONE RIGHTEOUS MAN . . . and you can't tell me that the majority of Americans are not righteous, no matter how you define it. You can't tell me that there was not a righteous man or woman in those towers. So get off the holier-than-thou horse and get to work.
