Now, the USA has been struck and we say God has lifted His hand. So He gets the credit for bad events. Why do we always find a reason for an attack, war or death? Jesus said, "There shall be wars and rumors of wars." (Matt. 24:6)
I respect your reply about revs. being 1000 years long, but to me they keep insinuating [subtly] that we are in the throws of the last times. This isn't the first time atrocites have occured, and I don't believe anyone who says these things knows any more than I do what stage of the game we're in. Call me skeptical. :)
Would concur if it were merely a handful of things.
But after studying the issue since Jr High--and seeing the march of history gain depth and breadth in terms of the percentage of Biblical prophecies displayed in the daily newspaper as well as the vast number of individual national and international events fitting in to Biblical prophecies as NO OTHER TIME in all of the last 2,000 years. . . it at least has become very interesting.
The Bible says He told us such things that we not be caught unaware. Evidently He wanted us to make good use of such prophecies. A TYPE II error is not inherently more righteous than a TYPE I error. . . . i.e. saying nothing is there when something is--is not inherently more righteous than saying something is there when there isn't anything there. Hope I didn't get my error types mixed up.
At this point, it seems to me that thousands of points of data concur that we are in the "generation" that will see all these things come to pass--beginning with the setting up of Israel "in a day" as the Bible specifically predicted. . . . in 1948.
