You make a good point, but consider: in Taliban territory, you're either a Muslim or you suffer dearly. When I read Ann's column, I got the impression she was saying (at least in part), let's do to them what they want to do to us.

Perhaps that's what she meant, but a lot of people are taking it literally. Just look at some of the people here that are. Not only that, but they agree with that literal interpretation.
