Muslim blames US at Chicago's Largest Church (BARF)
10/06/01 | Dengar01

Posted on 10/06/2001 6:16:58 PM PDT by Dengar01

I just got home from church and I had to post this. I attended Willow Creek church which is north west of Chicago. It is the largest church in the area, it is a non-denominational Christian church, the main auditorium hold 10,000 people and was filled tonight. The topic of the 5:00 service tonight was the interview with a Muslim named Iama Fisal Hammounda, by Senior Pastor Bill Hybels. They will be having three more services between tonight and tomorrow, I pray to God they change their plans for the next services.

I knew this was going to get ugly when the church showed a video on ethnic diversity. I looked around at the church filled to capacity with over 10,000 people and noticed several Muslims.

The inteview started and the man was introduced as a Egyptian who moved here in 1974. He complained that his wife was in Florida and couldn't come home due to the fact that she would be harassed. The goal of Pastor Hybel's interview was to prove that Islam is a peaceful religion, lets just say that he failed, miserabley.

Pastor Hybels did ask some very good questions which surprised me since I thought the Muslim might take the questions as offensive. A few questions statements stood out. The Muslim declared that Islam was peaceful and that the terrorists did not follow Islam, fine I guess. He continued that a "Jihad" had to do with attacking sin he made the poor analogy of declaring a jihad on eating candy.

Continuing Pastor Hybels asked him about martyrs along with the virgins and the streams of wine and the Muslim responded I pray for that to happen. He was truly innappropriate and this is when everything went downhill.

He declared that the terrorists in the US were bad but that the Palestinians were "freedom fighters". Immediately after saying that all the Muslims attending applauded.

After the Muslims were jumping for joy with the Mr. Hammounda's innappropriate remarks, many people got up and walked out disgusted. I stayed to hear his next remarks which stunned me worse than his previous remarks.

He then stated that, "The US is responsible for terrorism"

That is when I walked out.

Fortunately for me to write this my sister and her husband stayed while I was complaining to several people at the Service Desk. The final statement which I was lucky enough to miss finished with Mr. Hammounda saying that Christians and Muslims can be friends, only on Muslims terms.

Yes you heard it the slime being spewed by the left is false. I heard it first hand from this man answering innappropriately while joking about a serious issue. I made the statement that this was unnacceptable for a church and should not be tolerated.

If you agree with me you can FReep the church at:
Willow Creek Community Church
67 E. Algonquin Road
South Barrington, IL 60010
(847) 765-5000
Fax: (847) 765-9222
General e-mail: info@willowcreek.org

Don't worry because the church had many people furious, about 200 people walked out including myself and many people were venting their frustration to people who work at the church. I will be calling the church tomorrow to let them know how I feel.

Yes the service had atleast 2 cameras that I witnessed filming. Every service has a recording but since this was the first of 4, I have a strong feeling that Hybels may change the interview due to the fact that many people walked out furious.

I am going up on Monday to retrieve a copy of the interview and will post it on my website, if it is not the same interview that I witnessed at the 5:00 service I will call that place until they lose their minds. They may have had problems with people wanting stuff before but they never had to deal with a FReeper wanting something bad.

I would go tomorrow but the Bears are on. I am hoping my Bears will go 2-1. If they do I will be doing cartwheels.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dengar01. Please, if anyone receives a reply from Willow Creek post it here for all of us to read. Thanks.

These are outlaws who did this.

The problem is though they are still Muslims in good standing. When you look at what is going on in Indonesia and the killings of millions of African Christians and animists, the killings of millions of Hindus in India and Pakistan, it becomes apparent that in Islam, violence is tolerated. In other religions a priest or minister or rabbi or layman that goes overboard and promotes mass murder claiming religious reasons would be ostracized or excommunicated. Bin Laden and all the killers are Muslims calling for Jihads and no one can say they aren't real Muslims.

I am personally going to track down Bill Hybels if I have to meet him face to face to disern my disappointment in his interview. From what people say he is more concerned about his PR than anything else so hopefully I can meet with him and I will post everything that he says to me, so all of Free Republic can see what he has to say, if anything.

If there is no fundamental change in Islam there will be no peaceful anything. Since the fundamental method of expansion by Islam is totalitarian military conversion it cannot by its very nature co-exist with the Western civilization.

Freedom and religious slavery are incompatible. There is no religious freedom or intellectual freedom allowed under Islam as it has been traditionally practiced.

Repression is at its core. Art is strictly controlled. Noble prizewinning authors are physically attacked. Ignorance controls this religion thru blind fanaticism. There is nothing noble about it or spiritually significant. It is a cheap knockoff of a religion designed for spread among the most ignorant and savage of the Arabian penisula by a violent, brutal and crude man.

Its inhuman nature is most clearly illustrated by the pervasive and overwhelmiing violence against women. Read the Koran (if you can stand it) it does not lie about Mad Mo's intentions or methods.

That's really rich. Although you have only been with FR since Sept.14, 2001, surely you have figured out that most of us don't buy that line.

So, you're telling me that seniority on this board gives you credibility? And truth be told, I don't having anything to sell you, either. Just wanted to make sure that the people on this board, who are generally thoughtful, and mostly believe in the same things I do, would not have their view of Muslims colored by the malice of a few rather vile posters.

Koran, Haddith, ayatollahs, mullahs, imams, Wahhabis, and all of it added together equals a pack of lies dressed in hell-fire.

Hellfire, eh. I'm sooo scared. This is the crap the Taliban spew. Et tu?

Cool! BTW, I am NOT a "Willow Creek" fan, esp. due to their inviting of the X42 Creep. It's too "One World Religion" touchy-feely for me.
