"If you look at the world as a global family, and your little brother kills somebody else in the family, you don't get all the big brothers together and kill that brother," Mellencamp says.

If you look at the world as a global family, you are an idiot. Even Muslim extremists don't view the world in this way.

They should play Grand Funk Railroad.

I believe Mark Farner(One of the best singers there is) is conservative.

Could be worse. Could be like in my case that I keep finding that more and more of my favorite musicians are left-wingers.

At least there is still Grand Funk Railroad, Nugent, Ozzy, and AC/DC.

Hurt so good
Come on baby,
Make it hurt so good
Sometimes love don't
Feel like it should
You make it
Hurt so good

I always found John Mellencamp's music to be derivative as well as banal. I never bought the 'small-town bad-boy' image either. Mellencamp worked way too hard at it. Now this from Mellencamp:

"This revenge thing I'm not big on. Nationalism has led people down the wrong path before."

6,000 + dead on American soil and when we strike back it's 'nationalism'?
Mellencamp is entitled to his idiotic opinion but this kind of mushy-headed foolishness is why these 'rock stars' have to be called on this anti-American crap. They don't have a clue and they need to be challenged on their foolish opinions, not fawned over. John Mellencamp is a fool if he believes our response to September 11th is sheer 'nationalism'. An overpaid, overpraised and over-exposed fool, at that.

Hurt so good
Come on baby,
Make it hurt so good

That is not a challenge. I just couldn't help myself.LOL

If anybody's interested, John Mellencamp is going to be on Letterman in the next half hour. It's possible, but not likely, that he's going to offer some pearls of wisdom during his appearance.

"In the shows, people would chant, 'U.S.A! U.S.A!' It's frightening to me," he says.

I bet it is. I bet it is . . .
