Hey no-meat-eaters-on-Fridays-during-Lent!

There are a ton of us Catholic Freepers out there, this is our little thread in the big big world. This is just my way of attempting to get to know people just like me.

A few links I enjoy:

www.vatican.va - the Holiest Web Site on Earth
www.scripturecatholic.com - providing Scripture references to support the teachings of the faith

And lastly, I post a joke I once heard on Free Republic:

What is the difference between a Catholic and a Protestant? Catholics wave to each other in the liqour store.

The Neverending Story Thread

Poland: Still the World's Most Catholic Country

Canadian Cable TV offers homosexual channel, not EWTN

Purgamentum init, exit purgamentum.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Non calor sed umor est qui nobis incommodat.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

Thought you might like some handy Latin phrases...glad to see you responded to the thread about the "early FR"...you had some nice compliments. I remember you from back then because of a remark you made about slipping into your pink feather slippers....I've used that line often in my emails...just loved it!

Hi ! as a Catholic I worry about the state of the Church.

take a look at the following site. www.garabandal.org and it will give you some food for thought. The story happened in 1962 and is coming true today. I believe the Hierarchy is not doing justice to the true Church...

Add me to the Freep flock. Byzantine rite Catholic, living in a very liberal diocese in Florida. It'd be nice to have a safe space for Cat'lics here - I get so tired of having a good discussion of, say, the Pope, or Church history, or well, just about anything pre-Reformation - destroyed by wild-eyed readers of Chic comic books (nasty little fundamentalist comic books with ugly drawings of the Pope plotting to take over the world and have Protestants come and kiss his toes).

Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventomsissmis esponebantur ad necem.

In the good old days, children like you were left to perish on windswept crags.

hahha - just kidding.

Ignore her. I've seen her get anilihated on other threads. She generally posts a bunch of hateful screed without any sustaining information and then gets pummeled. Don't wrestle with her. You'll only get dirty and she will love it. A total waste of time. Does not possess the intellectual firepower to engage meaningfully.

One more RC freeper checkin' in...

Oh, and I converted my wife; she used to be a baptist.

She was baptized Catholic, tho', and like the Priest who married us told her, "once we got you, we never let you go..."

It sure is great bein' married to a Catholic girl. She... well, you figure it out for yourselves. Just remember, Catholic = Michelangelo and Botticelli, Protestant = American Gothic.

Viva il papa! I went to see the Pope when he first came to Chicago, right after his election...talk about an enthusiastic audience... although I was only 10, I remember that day vividly. Saw il papa again in Rome on a school trip with fellow students at my Marionhill missionary school...

RC bumpus from an alumnus of a Dominican sisters' high school. BTW, FWIW do y'all realize that according to the CIA, we Catholics make up 28% of this great country?

(Check in and register, Brother FF. =^))
