Should Conservatives Support Rudeness? Why booing Senator Clinton is beneath us.
self

Posted on 10/23/2001 1:51:57 PM PDT by watsonfellow

First of all, to prevent the flamings, I should say that I am a strong conservative, and my number one issue is the life issue and so I am not at all a supporter of the Clintons etc.

That being said, I thought it the height of rudeness for these firemen and policemen to boo and yell at the Senator this weekend. It lacked dignity and class. I thought we conservatives were supposed to stand for such things, or perhaps this is just what we say, but do not practice.

I wonder what Burke et al would have said about this conservative embrace of very questionable manners.

The policemen and firemen should have just done nothing when she appeared on stage, no clapping, no booing, the silence would have expressed the same thing, but in a much more dignified way.

Your as big a fool as Watsonfellow. Hillary is an evil, despicable human being. It is because of people like you that she and her pig of a husband got where they are. Sorry, but I'm in no mood for this bullshit tonite.

she (and Sick Willie) should be thoroughly mocked & verbally flogged in public.

Verbally? Why verbally? I would much prefer a cat-o'-nine-tails be used.

It is because of people like you that she and her pig of a husband got where they are. Not me.

Sorry, but I'm in no mood for this bullshit tonite I've been busy back peddling all night. Everyone is right. I was wrong.

I'd like to think that absolute, pin-drop silence would've worked, but barring everyone quietly turning their back and filing out while she spoke, I don't think anything else BUT definite, unambiguous words/sounds would be noticed by her.

Where is it written that conservatives have to remain silent in the face of evil?

This member of the "silent" majority is silent no more.

I will keep booing and yelling and whistling to my heart's content when confronted by an ugly pants suit and his royal slickness.

Yup. The reaction gave the lefties another excuse to point to conservatives as so much crude, uneducated buffoonery, since booing a United States Senator especially in a time like this is the reacton of a crude uneducated buffoon.

At least as many of the firefighters and cops there probably bit their tongues no matter what their opinions (I assume most aren't Hillary fans) but that will be lost when the liberals get through using this story to prove their point about "trailer trash" conservatives.

She is the elected Senator of the People and State of New York and as such must (even though I and many others strongly, strongly, strongly disagree with her) be accorded respect and civility.

Since Klintoon pardoned Puerta Rican terrorists to get her elected, and since those same terrorists killed New York cops, I'm sure the cops in the audience can reasonably assume that she would just as soon see them dead.

She won the state by like 13 points so she's probably not too worried about a few hundred people booing her. The booing probably helps her; she always did better when people felt sympathy for her. So, I wouldn't worry about Hillary's feelings.

What is mindboggling is that they would have abused the solemnity and tragedy of the 9/11 events to act like hooligans and boo a politician. They were not honoring their dead brothers when they were booing Hillary Clinton; they were just acting like boors.

They were at a benefit rock concert, bonehead. Not a funeral. The only thing louder than the booing was the sound of their fallen brothers spinning in their graves when that filthy whore walked on stage.
