He allows things to come into our lives but I don't think most of the time he causes it to happen. He just doesn't stop it. That being said, He is always with us to see us through the various tragedies that befall us.

I know which picture you mean. If Oral Roberts has a website, perhaps he could help. It seems he had a vision from which this picture was taken, if I'm not mistaken. Just a thought. I think it was something like Christ and the UN or something along those lines.

No, that's not true. None of us who believe God allowed this to happen is calling him evil. That seems to be coming from the rest of you anti-christian folk.

Good answer. The church has been and still is apathetic. We sit by and complain that this or that isn't happening but then keep sitting by and not saying anything. God WILL judge the church first. I'm convinced of that. God gave the CHURCH the great commission, and to feed the hungry and widowed. NOT the GOVERNMENT! Frustrating, isn't it?

REPENTANCE is needed, alpowolf. This country needs to see the error of its way and repent for the sins of the nation. It's an individual thing, I guess. The president can call for a national day of repentance but whether he does or not is immaterial. It's up to US in our own hearts to see the sin of this nation and to repent of it for our nation and for ourselves.

Having a prophetic gift, i.e. hearing from God and announcing it, is a difficult gifting because you say things that are not popular and not always well-received. God is speaking to His people today and He uses these prophets to deliver the message. Sometimes we have a tendency to 'kill the messenger,' and David Wilkerson is one of these messengers. God is raising many prophets to speak His messages but too many folks just do NOT want to hear it so they poo poo it. Sad for them.

There were many miracles in those escapes, OWK. Many got out because of the provision of God for that escape. Why some got out and some didn't will always be a mystery. There are just some things we will never know.

I wrote that a long time ago and it had apparently been saved by truthandlife. Fits right in with this article. We have a choice. We always have choices.

That's right. Having Christ in your life changes your perspective on things, life especially. You are no longer your own but Christ's. He has a great plan for each one of us if we'll only listen and obey. I've gone through a lot of tough times but He has never let me down; never left me nor forsaken me and has given me the hope and will to go on. May His name be blessed in all the earth, especially in America, to whom He has given so much.

By "sins of the nation" do you mean the sins of each individual in the nation, or some sort of collective sin (such as a sinful policy)?

God IS a loving God but we also forget that He is a JUST God, a God of JUSTICE. He IS an actor in all our events.

OWK, God didn't allow this to 'teach us a lesson' but to turn our lives back to HIM. He wants this nation to turn away from our sin and turn back to Him. That's all.

No Christian here has said anything about God killing babies and others as a form of submission to Him. You like twisting others' words, my FRiend to fit your own frame of reference. God has allowed many things to happen to each one of us for our greater good. When you put your faith and trust in HIM, He is more or less responsible for you and for what happens to you. He is more than able to deliver us out of all these trials but there are times, for our own good or for the good of our nation, that He chooses not to. He is with us continually through those times of crisis or tragedy and if we are open to Him, we can grow tremendously through the affliction. I have learned just to surrender to His call on my life, no matter WHAT that means for me.

God IS a God of Love, RB, but He's also a God of Justice. We don't like to think of that, but it's true. What He longs for is a relationship with each one of us. Sometimes He allows things to come into our lives that are unpleasant and painful. These things can either push us toward God or away from Him. That's our choice. But to think He's only a God of love doesn't give a complete description of Him. He's love, He's all those things, but He's also a God of justice.

My viewpoint wasn't that God was sending us a message of destruction. I think the real message was in what happened after the planes crashed. That good can still prevail, even when the world has become a living hell. When you think of how many could have died, but didn't. How many could have been selfish and not sacrificed, but weren't and did.

He used Judas didn't he? satan entered Judas but God used him for His purposes. None of us can really know for certain whom God uses to bring about His purposes for our lives or our nation. It's always been a mystery and always will be.

I agree with your posts, but did you know that you are responding to some message that are almost two years old?
