I believe that the wonderful delivery of important speeches by W has to do with prayers answered "yes." I don't like everything he's done either, but can you imagine the alternative if the election had been successfuly stolen? We've been Providentially blessed.

It certainly doesn't take much to impress some people. Let's just say that Bush is the greatest president of the US in this century so far. Any more would be pushing it. Great presidents don't fill their cabinets with pissants. that has a tendency to undermine whatever they might accomplish to qualify them for greatness.

Awful Speaker???? Where the hell were you when he gave that speech to the joint session of Congress. Even the liberal media hailed that as one of the greatest speeches ever delivered by a President.

Where were you when he delivered the one at the Washington Catherdal???? Also a fabulous speech.

His speeches are always best when he really believes in what he is doing. They are also better when Karen Hughes, who knows him well writes them. He does just fine and is improving all the time. But to say he is awlful is terribly unfair. You must have missed his better ones.

I have been shocked to read some of the comments here. It shows that many just cannot or will not see the truth of this man. Like you, I have been brought to tears when he speaks. He says what's in his heart and on his mind - you don't have to parse his words or wonder if he means what he's saying. I love this man - I love his faith, his strength, his resolve, his love of America and her citizens, his love of family and friends - and even the love he shows his dogs. He is REAL, folks. He is also a much greater man than some here understand. Time will show you what you missed about him and I can't wait.

But Kath what does the Liberal Media know, maybe it was the best Bush did but it didn't touch speeches some past Presidents, not even close in my eye.

I go back to my original statement. Your disrespectful comments belie your claim to be behind the President. No one is asking you to bow at his feet, but your entire post is filled with contempt for the man God has chosen to lead our country through this war, and you are out of line.

It was just the liberal media that thought it was great, so did most Americans. The majority who believee that to be one of the greatest speeches ever delivered by every poll that was taken and by everyone one I know that heard it. You are in the minority.

You are absolutely right!! Unfortunately, most (perhaps all) of these bashers are so self-absorbed and arrogant that they wouldn't admit the truth about the President if it hit them between the eyes. Time will prove him to be a great President, but you won't hear these guys admit it. That would take both character and humility, and they don't have either.

You must have missed his better ones.

There have been an awful lot of those "better ones" Kath. His speeches are stirring, if not eloquent, because his message is true, and his heart is right with God.

The speech on September 20th before Congress was outstanding in everyone's book, unless they deliberately chose to dismiss it before it even began. Unfortunately, a number of them are right here at FR, and their voices are getting uglier and less patriotic by the day.

If a president leads during a time of peace and prosperity, chances are that he won't be remembered as a particularly great president. He can just coast through his presidency because he won't have any tough decisions to make.

IMO, President Bush will be remembered as one of the greats because he will have to make many difficult decisions and he will have to constantly show the world that we are tough so that our enemies won't see us as weak and therefore vulnerable.

Time will show that's a given.

He hasn't been in office a yr. and he has just added and is adding more agencies where already the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing!

Let's come back in 6 mos. We have a war going on and we have enemies on our soil and I have a feeling, gut mind you, an enemy within our own Gov't.

Keep safe
