Need to be with my own kind

Fellow Freepers,
Can't stand it anymore here in New England. The DEMONcrats won all of the surrounding towns, swept the area, and are breathing down my neck. Taxes are going through the roof, and the radical libs are winning seats everywhere.
They're surrounding me...those yipping voices and holier than thou gestures...closing in...WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN?...strangling me..can't breathe...grabbing for Bushmaster...oops, sorry, lost control there for a second.
My question is, where can I go to be among my own kind?
I can pretty much live anywhere. Here's what I'm looking for:
1. Reasonable taxes.
2. Couldn't care less about the educational system (no kids, no plans for kids).
3. I'd like a good amount of land, near or on a body of water would be great.
4. Solid repub/conservative local government, within a conservative, friendly state would be great as well.
Other than that, I'm open.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks,
Cato

Texas or Nevada? Both have a bit of problem with the water, although Texas at least has many man made lakes, many of which are not too close to the cities. Unless of course you find some place down on the Gulf coast, then you've got all the water anyone could want. It would help if you hablo espanol...a joke son, just a joke, although of course it couldn't hurt either.

Mr. Cat (See..I speak Spanish),
Forgot one little thing...I hate humidity.
I think Texas is on the short list, though the Gulf is quite humid from what I understand. Where are you?
To: Gilbo_3
Hmmm..Indiana. Hadn't considered. Any particular town/county?

From someone in Kalifornia, Texas looks like a nice country.

Y'know...as my wife and I looked over the map it dawned on us...
The liberals have taken over all of the nicest areas in the country (climate-wise)!
My uncle lives in San Luis Abysmal. He likes it, but he's getting crushed by the taxes.

Whoa there cowgirl. Let me grab my map. Any water nearby? Mountains? Land?
To: ModernDayCato
No water, but lots of gorgeous mountains and land.

I live in West Bend, WI, Washington County. The county where I live is at least 85% conservative. We had the highest Bush vote in the state with about 83%. It's a very conservative local government, I don't think a liberal even runs for office. The state is pretty conservative if you exclude Milwaukee and Dane (Madison) County (that's the voter fraud areas). We have a split congress and we are working very hard at changing that. There is a LOT of water, including Lake Michigan (about 15 miles east). The state taxes are pretty high, but we don't have local taxes and a pretty low sales tax. Check out the WI page, we have some good local political discussions there.
All and all, it's a good state.

Uh oh. New Hampshire was on my list. Guess I should scratch it off, huh? (We call Mass people massholes too..and I went to Boston University).
As far as the battle goes, I fear it's pretty much lost. But that's another story. I have the time and the money to run for office, but I honestly don't think I can make a difference.

Try Frisco, Texas. Growing town, 30 miles north of Dallas.

I'm with you my brother! I'm stuck in Maryland!

Well, I'm doing my darndest to move back home to Galveston, Texas. Lots of water, but like someone mentioned, the humidity can run a tad high. Otherwise, it beats the hell out of Pine Bluff, Arkansas!
