If anyone gets the chance, this is well worth watching on C-SPAN, if they show it.

As I mentioned before:
And as a result of working hard and having an environment which President Putin is working hard to create, which is an environment where there is a tax system that's fair -- and, by the way, they've got a flat tax in Russia. (Laughter and applause.) He built his own business. He now owns a grocery store-type business.

Thanks for the post and the ping..... Very different times we live in today......
Russia has been a strong partner in the fight against terrorism. It's an interesting story for me to report. I was on Air Force One the day of the attack, working my way back to Washington via Louisiana and Nebraska -- (laughter) -- making sure that the President was safe and secure. The first phone call I got from a foreign leader was President Putin. He told us that he recognized that I had put our troops on alert. I did so because, for the first time in a long period of time, America was under attack. It only happened once -- twice, I guess -- the War of 1812 and Pearl Harbor. In the old days when America put their troops on attack, Russia would have responded and put her troops on alert, which would have caused the American President maybe to put a higher alert, and Russia a higher alert, and all of a sudden, we would have had two conflicts instead of one. But not this President. This President recognized we're entering into a new era and his call was, don't worry, we know what you're up against, we stand with you and we will not put our troops on alert, for the good of the United States of America.
I'm sure attack should have been alert....

Yes, it should be alert, although the President misspoke those words himself.
Just goes to show you that the White House is honest. They even put the flubs in the transcripts.

We got to hear much of the affair on local radio down here in Texas.
There is a remarkable ease between the two Presidents; they appear to have genuine affection for one another.
It also evident what motivates each of them: love of country. Consequently, they also know they can trust one another. There are no hidden agendae.
Personally, I also thought the Crawford High kids asked more intelligent questions than you get at a normal, run-of-the-mill press conference.

Personally, I also thought the Crawford High kids asked more intelligent questions than you get at a normal, run-of-the-mill press conference. Cheney and Rumsfeld have been overtly slapping the press around. Now, essentially a press conference, with high school students.
But the mainstream media will be the very last to get it. Come to think of it, journalists probably came from the bottom of the class. Unable to hack accounting, engineering--anything requiring logic, discipline, with measurable results.

I watched the entire event...
I pray that this new "relationship" with Russia and Putin is real.
If Putin is as genuine as Bush -- the future looks very promising for the West.
These two, in combination with our other REAL friends --- can ensure a bright future for us, and a dismal one for our enemies.

Please read the transcript. Tonight Britt Hume said that President Putin was secretly baptized when he was a child.

Just saw this posted on another thread:
Putin is indeed a devout Orthodox Christian. The church is part of many of his ceremonies in Russia. He also attends regularly and confesses at a monastery. He wears his baptismal cross always.

Praise God that He is at work in both of these men! As one who remembers Kruschev's shoe banging "We will bury you," I am moved by the warm relationship between these two Presidents.
Thanks for this, Miss Marple! I am taping it on C-span. It is history in the making!!
