London -- As war raged around him in the hills of Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden fell into a deep sleep, oblivious to bullets whistling overhead. When he woke several hours later, ready to battle against the Soviet invaders, the enemy had completely vanished. "Perhaps they could not see me," bin Laden later told supporters.
