In tribute to my best friend. I'm going through a divorce, and, Thank GOD, there are no kids. Custody of my dog is at stake, but I would not want to be the judge that told my shep he couldn't see me any more. Is there a nobler breed?

Nope.

You have lovely puppies. Good luck with your fight.

I expected to see little bearded men in lederhosen escorting sheep around the Bavarian Alps. What I found is definitely more handsome -- and nobler.
I wish you luck.

If you do lose your battle, try one of these.

They never start a fight, but they always finish it. :-)

I was just getting up to go outside and play frisbee with my German Shepherd when I saw your post. They are wonderful dogs.

Well this thread is going to 200 posts once someone starts the ball rolling by posting a picture of their dog too.

Whooops..

That is not my dog but it's the same breed.

Here is a photo of one of my father's dogs 2 weeks ago at the National Specialty Show. The sister of this dog won Grand Victrix(top lady dog in the country).

Not a dog, but how about my kid's car?

Only one. The Doberman.

Mine was a black German shepherd, pure bred with more brains and courage than any other dogs I owned (or did he own me? -it was never established). His name was Maximilian or plain old Max and he was the terror of thieves who foolishingly climbed over the wall surrounding our house and met up with Max. We had no trouble after that. He would stand at the gate at night and in the darkness all you could see were his teeth. A very scary doggie, but true blue/black and we still miss him 25 years later.

They are great. I had a female named Christie who was the perfect dog. She was very well behaved, and incredibly intelligent. She had one fault, chicken. It was her weakness. We had to put any chicken bones out of the house in a sealed dumpster, or she was finished. She couldn't help herself.

Since James Moses doesn't come cheap, your dad has spent tons of money on his passion. From one who knows from being an exhibitor. ;-)

Mine is also Max (Maximillion). I read somewhere that it is the number one name for dogs.

We have a female Sable German Sheperd. The smartest, most dedicated dog we ever owned. This German Sheperd is very protective of everyone in our family, and is really a big part of our family. She is so damn smart, its hard to describe.

I had a German Shepherd/Husky when I was a kid. Later in life, after getting married (boy, that was a mistake, but that's not what this is about), I adopted a Greyhound from one of the racing farms in Las Vegas. Awesomely loyal, very laid back, and very protective.

My next-door neighbor in Las Vegas was a special security officer at the Mercury site. He had a Doberman in his back yard. The neighbor on the other side of my house had a Rottie. One evening, the cop hears noises in his carport and surprises an individual trying to break into his truck. The perp vaulted the fence into the back yard, and the Dobie set in on him. He jumped the fence into my backyard, and the greyhound took a couple pieces out of him. Then he jumped the next fence....and the Rottie was waiting for him. By this time, I was outside with my neighbor, and we were folling the guy from the front yards. He managed to get over the fence from the Rottie's yard and was begging to be arrested.

Man...I really miss being able to have a dog.
