Great questions. Fleischer dodged. Couldn't answer a legitimate question.

That spice is anise. Anyway, instead of just stating "It's PENIS", I was using penus/anis to draw attention to the difference from penis/anus so that the one who wrote "penus" might wonder about the spelling and figure things out. I guess it didn't work. On a related note, I remember some really old guy telling my dad about his prostate operation and how he wished they had taken out his "prostrate" through his "penix".

I really dislike the Crone, but she did ask a question that raises legitimate thought. How far do we go in the search and destruction of terrorism. For example, let's assume that the Taliban had nothing to do with our day in infamy and all that they are guilty of in reference to us is refusing to turn over the man responsible. They are guilty of all kinds of atrocities on their own soil but we are really after them for refusing to hand over Bin Laden under the paraphrased guise of, "If you harbor a terrorist, if you give them shelter and food..you are a terrorist"

The Taliban is or rather was the government of most of Afghanistan. Spain and other countries say they won't hand over suspected terrorists if they are subject to the death penalty. What Spain is doing is not that much different in theory to what the Taliban did. Would we have invaded Afghanistan if the Taliban had put Bin Laden in a jail cell and said , "You can't have him because of the death penalty."

Can't they kick her (Helen Thomas) out and ban her from teh WH?

Something about the Disability Act. White House doesn't want to get sued.

The difference is that these people are in jail and will remain in jail in Spain. Spain has its problems with Basque terrorists who have confirmed contacts with the Al Queda. Do you honestly think that Spain wants these people back in the streets?

In Afghanistan they were an integral part of the government and openly ran departments of the government. Osama provided fighters from Al Queda to provide protection for Taliban officials; whereas they provided training camps and food for Al Queda groups like Brigade 055.

So the answer is "NO" - Helen Thomas's question is NOT A "LEGITIMATE THOUGHT". Its insipid, childish, and contains not oen iota of logic or fact, but she meant to goad the administration and set Helen's own agenda.

So what do you think is the real story behind the government in Saudia Arabia. What if they refuse to hand over suspected terrorists. Are you going to give them leniency too even though there are indications that some members may have aided and abetted Bin Laden.

No-I don't think so. It is a tradition, a heavy duty seniority thing. But Helen is so biased, so depressed now that billy and hilly aren't wooing her, snickering with her, inviting her to the parties and making a big deal over her that she can barely function. She is shallow but will never be able to come to terms with this because she is so very overwhelmed with herself. I only wish, for one minute, that she could see herself and her dispicable bias as clearly as we can. I am ashamed for her-her rudeness in demanding that her question be answered would have served her well in during the clinton years, except she had NO REAL QUESTIONS then.....only snears at any Republican response to her big bill's creepy actions.

What's a penus? Is it related in any way to an anis?

In order to understand the relationship you would have to know whether you are coming or going.

I agree with KC_Conspirator's answer-- Helen Thomas' question is not good and not legitimate (unless you are from the 'no question is a stupid question' school of thought, which Helen obviously is.) Her question was a rhetorical snipe and she asked it to suggest that President Bush is a free-wheeling cowboy who would storm, of all places, Spain. This is why the liberal nuts liked the question-- it plays into their agenda to demean the President.

Bush has made it clear that he wants all terrorists to be handed over to the US. So will it be sufficient to you when countries refuse to hand over terrorists under the guise of protecting them from our death penalty. How long must they stay in jail for it to be sufficient. What if they could get the death penalty here but in the other country all they get is 6 months? So exactly where are you going to draw the line between invasion and letting the country let the terrorist off the hook.

At the moment, Spain is only taking their commie stand against the death penalty. They are not advocating or abetting terrorism. Do you honestly think that we would invade Spain?

No, that is not that question. The question is where do you draw the line in combatting terrorism when dealing with other countries. That is the underlying point that the Crone was trying to make. I doubt she thought we should invade Spain at this point. This war on terrorism has the potential to set off many international incidents and I have yet to understand when we are going to invade a country versus letting the terrorist get off with 6 months jail time.

I didn't hear that Spain was planning on letting terrorists out of prison after 6 months.
