Racism runs wild at FR

JimRob can't be expected to police every thread. But the rank, appalling racism of some comments made during the discussion of the Adams Mark lawsuit really is quite beyond the pale. Your thoughts?

I think this thread should follow that other thread into non-existence.

You're the guy who stated that if these people were treated rudely by staff, they should own the hotel.

Makes me think you have other agendas beyond cleaning up the language of FR.

You never answered my question on the other thread: Are you a lawyer?

Still, the whole thing smacks of racism--I don't know of evidence that any white groups were treated this way.

Except for the orange wrist bands, there was nothing out of the norm. I have had to carry my own bags in many hotels as good or better than an Adams Mark. I have paid higher rates than normal. And considering the age group and the tendancy to have large parties, the wrist bands were probably neccessary to keep things under control.

Nope nope nope. The people that fill the Daytona area are not all college kids, in fact most are not.

It is a racist event (BCR). It may not excuse racist comments, but don't go claiming that BCR is not to blame

Remember back in the good old days of Spring Break in places like Daytona and Ft. Lauderdale?? That was tolerated then because most of the kids were white and middle to upper middle class, the police in "freaknik" areas are a much bigger presence there than they used to be in Daytona and Ft. Laud (I know, I was there many many times LOL) What else could the reason be than race??

Perhaps what you are calling "racism" is in fact the beginning of a new political reality? I would like to share a thought with you from Jared Taylor's book "Paved with Good Intentions".

"White Americans will eventually lose patience. The White Student Union at Temple University, the National Association for the Advancement of White People, the popularity in Louisiana of former Klansman David Duke - these are all disquieting signs that whites are tired of double standards. Only for so long will whites watch blacks use race as a weapon before they forge racial weapons of their own."

Have you kept up with what is happening in Zimbabawe or South Africa lately? Funny how the media isn't screaming about the racist policies of Mugabe. Oh, that's right, it isn't racism when the victims are white people, is it? How about the events that happened in Wichita Kansas, December 15, 2000? Gee, what happened to Mardi Gras in Seattle? Who exactly is responsible for that event being permanently cancelled? Listen to a rap song lately? The list goes on and on and on and on. But of course, if we talk about any of this, we are racists. Soon that word is going to lose all of its power. Where will the leftists be then?

I have not read that thread that you mention, however I was surprised by some of the responses concerning interracial dating in other threads. Still it's hard to judge(how many people hold that view), a couple of very vocal individuals can make it seems like a lot of people agree with them.

You're wrong. Sorry. ALL hotels use the same policies for each event. If they incur losses, they tighten security so they don't keep having the same problems. It IS a racist event.

Come down to Daytona for BCR. I dare you.

No, this thread tops it, in my opinion, featuring such gems as:

not fear, revulsion of tainted inferior dna wiping out a superior one. no thanks it has already ruined our nation enough.

"Come to think of it, we were treated this way by the hotel at the Jimmy Buffet concert at Carowinds. Of course, it was warranted because the place got trashed." A fellow Parrothead?? Welcome Bro from the "son of a son of a sailorman"

Still, the whole thing smacks of racism

Everything smacks of racism to a person who has bought into the race-victimhood scam. Professional race-victims are unable to discern between geniuinely racist acts, and unpleasant events in which race is merely an incidental factor.

Professional race-victims have little credibility with thinking people because professional race-victims scream "racism" at every fleeting shadow. Would you like to see credibility restored to anti-racism initiatives? Learn and practice discretion.

Spring Break is mild compared to BCR. BCR is a racist event. Period.

To note: even Daytona gave MTV the boot a few years back. But they can't boot BCR. Why? NAACP, etc.

I've seen MUCH worse anti-Arab, anti-Muslim bigotry over the last couple of months on FR than anything I glimpsed on what I saw of that thread.

No doubt there's plenty of racists and bigots here on FR as in the world at large.

However, young black culture is a topic for discussion because it so overwhelmingly flies in the face of traditional (ie, one man, one woman marriage...children raised by both parents) values. Same as the young homosexual male lifestyle, and others no doubt.

The egocentric young black rap music typically comes off as angry, heavily sexual, anti-traditional, money-as-king commentary. It is promoted on mainstream music networks and radio stations and children (my children) listen to it. I don't see it as a positive and I turn off what is blatantly over the edge. Nothing racist in these comments, just factual.

Actually, Spring Break in Florida went bad in the 80's. They finally shut it down and the kids go to Mexico now (better drinking laws for kids).

I think I was a sort of a moderating force. Once I stopped going, all hell broke loose.
